    @janneke @tinoruijs en op zo'n klein dingetje?! /sarcasme

Lijkt me dat de politieke partijen te weinig er aan doen. Bijvoorbeeld niets gehoord dat ze mails of brieven sturen om leden aan te moedigen naar Palestina protesten te gaan.

@aral i think that's bad messaging, it's telling them to feel bad. Tell them to change/remove the emblem and maybe put a bumper sticker up.

Give them actions to improve free speech and the value of a human life..

@bmacDonald94 tbh i think that's not how it is, guns have been around longer than school shootings etcetera.

It's like climate change, we could put a looot of CO2 in the air, but that's not what we do, we put an absolutely humongous amount of CO2 in the air, all the fossil fuel we can practically get at. And then it goes wrong.

The level of school shootings, or this CEO shooting is not because a little went wrong, it's because a lot is systematically wrong all the time.

Djata Grรขce: โ€œI think the Chadian government is right to demand the departure of French troops, because Chad has already had 66 years of independence, and the French troops are only here to plunder Chadian resources. They have nothing positive to offer. Since their presence, we have faced attacks around the lake, but we have received no positive response. So the government is right: We need to start developing now and be truly independent.โ€

Chad Ends Military Partnership with Former Colonizer France
      from Democracy Now!
Chad has ended its long-standing military partnership with France. The move is the latest blow to Franceโ€™s colonial legacy in the Sahel region and follows the expulsion of French troops from Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso. Residents in Chadโ€™s capital Nโ€™Djamena voiced their support. So the government is right: We need to start developing now and be truly independent.โ€ The announcement by Chad was made Thursday, hours after a visit by the French foreign minister. France currently has around 1,000 troops stationed in Chad, which won its independence from France in 1960.

Climate Activist Arrested as He Was Performing Bach Piece in NYC Public Plaza
      from Democracy Now!
Here in New York, a 63-year-old climate activist and musician was arrested Thursday and now faces up to seven years in prison for performing a piece by Bach during a protest outside the headquarters of Citibank. John Mark Rozendaal, a professional cellist, was arrested alongside 14 other peaceful protesters, who encircled Rozendaal to shield him from the police while he performed in the public plaza. Rozendaal spoke briefly before he started playing Bachโ€™s โ€œSuites for Cello.โ€ John Mark Rozendaal: โ€œWeโ€™re here for freedom of speech. Iโ€™m playing music here today because we are taught that the purpose of music is to sober and quiet the mind and make it susceptible to divine influences.โ€ His words were interrupted as his fellow activists urged him to start playing as police approached. The protest was part of the โ€œSummer of Heat on Wall Streetโ€ campaign, which has been targeting Citibank with peaceful demonstrations all summer. Some 500 people have been arrested since the actions started.

U.S. Jury Orders Chiquita to Pay $38 Million to Families of Colombians Killed by Paramilitary Group
      from Democracy Now!
A federal jury in Florida has ordered Chiquita Brands International to pay over $38 million in damages to the families of eight Colombian men who were killed by paramilitaries that the banana giant funded. Chiquita previously pleaded guilty to paying the far-right United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia paramilitary group, or AUC, $1.7 million from 2001 to 2004, which Chiquita argued it did to protect its employees. The AUC has been found responsible for committing mass human rights abuses and murdering civilians from 1997 to 2006. EarthRights International, which helped represent the plaintiffs, said in a statement, โ€œThis verdict sends a powerful message to corporations everywhere: profiting from human rights abuses will not go unpunished. These families, victimized by armed groups and corporations, asserted their power and prevailed in the judicial process.โ€

@feld there should be a standard saying how programs specify what they're limited too.

Also note, people do it uncleanly with firejail or bubblewrap now. For instance ~/iso/$ROLE becomes the $HOME directory for some of my programs. But like i do that to programs, dunno if doing it to the window manager is practical.. @ryan_harg @fasnix @yuki2501

@feld programs want regular $HOME rather arbitrarily. Not sure if a virtual filesystem can reply with "just hold on", while asking the user if it is ok. (think not?)

It might be good if file-selection browsers was an intermediary, if that intermediary is trusted, you can know the users asked to access to that file. Avoiding the whole prompt thing..

Also, like X and (slightly less so?)Wayland might allow too much too. @ryan_harg @fasnix @yuki2501

      Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence
It is undeniable that artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain concepts are spreading at a phenomenal rate. Both technologies have distinct degree of technological complexity and multi-dimensional business implications. However, a common misunderstanding about blockchain concept, in particular, is that blockchain is decentralized and is not controlled by anyone. But the underlying development of a blockchain system is still attributed to a cluster of core developers. Take smart contract as an example, it is essentially a collection of codes (or functions) and data (or states) that are programmed and deployed on a blockchain (say, Ethereum) by different human programmers. It is thus, unfortunately, less likely to be free of loopholes and flaws. In this article, through a brief overview about how artificial intelligence could be used to deliver bug-free smart contract so as to achieve the goal of blockchain 2.0, we to emphasize that the blockchain implementation can be assisted or enhanced via various AI techniques. The alliance of AI and blockchain is expected to create numerous possibilities.
