For example, if artificially intelligent machines make all decisions, the markets will be fully rational.”

@wraptile It doesn’t “‘steal intellectual property’ from some rich people”, it enables rich people to steal from everyone and it’s not some some “minor bias”, it’s a bullshit machine that replicates the power relationships, inequality, and bigotry in its training materials. No Silicon Valley corporation has the best interests of the Global South at heart. They see them as “the next five billion” to be farmed and exploited. It’s colonialism as usual.

@aral I'm with UN on this one. Chatgpt is an amazing tool for developing world especially and I don't think anyone cares that it "steals intellectual property" from some rich people or that is minor bias when you're surrounded by cruel extremes. Fuck that.

@seachanger I’m not. Spoke at the first “Next Generation Internet” event in Rome a while back. Another speaker was from the UN. Literally said “the problems we face are too large and we should let Silicon Valley companies handle them.” Told him afterwards “Eric Schmidt could have given that talk” and he took it as a compliment. Was a real eye opener on the UN and where they stand for me.

@aral I find it hilarious how people fall in line for copyright propaganda. Who do you think owns majority of all copyrights in the world? Poor people or mega corporations like gety images and all these ip and patent holders and trolls?
Copyright is not there to protect the little guy. I thought we had that figured out in the 90s, no? What's up with this regression.
