@Infoseepage we stopped on Iceland for a couple of days last year on our trip to Norway. We could see some of the volcanic activity from afar. It is a fascinating place!
@dansup no to VC, but at the same time you and all the other developers should be decently paid. It is shocking with how little money you all build the Fediverse. It should be normal for us as users to donate a few $ every month to keep this going.
@Infoseepage oh, no worries, a lot of people suddenly dying with flu like symptoms will be a good indication that a new pandemic has started, and the CDC will catch that rapidly within 2-3 months.
@Gargron thank you! I understand how hard it is. I trust that good people will take care of it, and that you will still be able to contribute to the future direction.
@Infoseepage oh, yes, that is concerning and will be complicated to manage.
A lot of the vaccine manufacturers and shipping companies were my customers in the COVID pandemic. Seems they do not need the ultra cold storage anymore, but I am stocking up on sensors that biotech and pharma might need.
@Infoseepage from what I read, the current #h5n1 only binds to cells in some odd tissues in humans, thus the eye infections seen in dairy workers. Once it adapts to humans, as seen in the Canadian and the Louisiana cases, it seems to attack many more tissues and lead to severe outcomes. It has had severe outcomes in most species it adapted to. So I am very concerned...
@Infoseepage@GMIK69 with a lot of farmers I see the attitude: I know what I am doing and I do not want the government to impose any regulation on me... And we now see the consequences. At the moment it seems to be confined to dairy cows, I wonder how long it will take to adapt to a respiratory cattle tissue and a more classic flu transmission path, so that it can thrive in even more cattle...
@inthehands yes, agreed. But it still infuriates me that bike lane markings disappear in the intersections... This is the bike path I took to school every morning... Greatly improves biker safety when it is so clearly visible in the intersection.
