I’m merely sad it was all in service of the punchline of ‘crushing it!’
What a pitiful thing to pat yourself on the back for, even worse, going to that amount of expense.

The Sulzbergers of the 90s were nothing like this
The iPad lends itself to multiple niches
I -would- buy a Smart Keyboard to use with I, but that would never be my primary use. I’d say my use cases lean eclectic.
@WarnerCrocker they could do so safely while still being pretty vague. Better to accept any blame due.
I’m thinking some sort of incursion into a chink in their armor could have been involved, listening to better analysis of so, which Apple can be particularly tight-lipped about saying anything less it create copycat behavior or nullify their defense.
I also surveyed an incredible amount of strangers if they had been affected or knew about it. Only one had even heard about it.
@WarnerCrocker @jarunmb @davemark
Good lord, I have by no means kept any of the dot Mac dot iCloud followiup stuff active since the late 90s. I couldn’t tell you what the email addresses or passwords were for those if you paid me.
I’ve maintained using late 80s addresses for almost 45 years?
@WarnerCrocker @davemark for every app with a stored password? Only using Apples password management? Or had you used One Password?
I think I avoided it by only having one device, my phone, active, and being mostly offline.
I used to get calls for TFA authentication if using public WiFi (where it seems exactly like a man in the middle attack) or, when using a VPN at a family members house. Apparently triggered by unexpected ‘unblessed’ IP address?
Would you like the warranty protection plan with that?
@WarnerCrocker this nearly happened a few times before.death by a thousand takeovers neutered one ball at a time.
@Gargron @edwiebe @ryanschultz
As a Mastodon thing? No interest in Mastodon as an RSS reader / podcast player either.
I have a library of books, and DVD, and other media as well. And the public library is a couple of miles away.
I have no need or ambition for Mastodon becoming any of those.
@Gargron @edwiebe @ryanschultz
It has more common and general everyday meanings outside of the context of Mastodon?
Timeline, post history, seem more straight forward. No one refers to their wallet, their notebook, their in Box their out box, their posts their diary, etc… as ‘My Library’
A loogie was a term teens used for spitting from skylifts over pedestrians in midways and theme parks.
@WarnerCrocker I only encounter it amongst the casual Fantasy Football and office pool sorts.
@WarnerCrocker it might have even had a ram upgrade, if the fat Mac’s allowed that.
My Mac plus did duty for a long time once hard disk capacities became decent.
@WarnerCrocker what exactly happens when you bang the mouse three times until it drops dangling off the table?
He talks about you in his sleep
And I am but a simple sheep
Please don’t take him just because you can
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene,
Jookene
I’m begging of you please don’t take my ma-a-an
@WarnerCrocker sometimes it’s not the moves it’s the timing. Rest assured as crazy and mindless as this seems, there are planned countermoves to throw particular money wrenches of chaos into any possible short term victories
@WarnerCrocker
If you ever want to donate to a panhandler in case it is genuine, keep a loose bill in a usually empty pocket ready to drop as you pass by otherwise non interacting.
Same goes for people needing change for a machine. Never reach for and open a wallet or purse, could be set up for a snatching.
I have been proactive with disinterested bag ladies scavenging the trash for aluminum cans
@WarnerCrocker I think some pricing of things from paper towels to fossil fuels are in a position to lower prices just long enough to make those they are trying to place in office look good and effective.
A trade for power is an intersection of politics and economy.
Let’s hope they actually work.
Good way to flood the market sad each earlier generation gets pushed into the sub $1000 market. Actually I *hope* it’s an attempt to become more affordable and grab more share of the market.
One thing the tech press has been silently mum about is all of the sales on Apple products, left and right. They seem hard pressed on supporting the notion prices will creep up rather than creep down
