@NEETzsche @sun I've noticed that people tend to feel better about themselves when they have something they can point at and claim that it's the source of their problems. Could be anything from big tech firms to their next door neighbors. They'd rather bitch and moan 'till the second coming, instead of manning up and changing themselves or their situation for the better. 'Cause in the end, all they want is a villain, something they can shake their fist at. Misery loves company, and all that.

@bara worked at a pizza place a long time ago, and one of the chefs there had palms and fingers black as cinder. Since all his nerve endings were dead on his hands, he could grab hot pans right out of the oven without feeling a thing.

yeah, it's a tale as old as time. Speaking of tales, I remember back in college there was this one weird nerdy guy that I knew, friend of a friend of a friend type situation. We spoke a handful of times when hanging out with other folks we knew, but I never really got to know him that well.
One day, he just decided to troon out, seemingly randomly. After talking with some other folks about what happened, long story short, it was some stupid catty bullshit. This fucking faggot forsook his one friend bc he "wasn't on the up and up" when it came to politics (aka he liked making racist jokes). Now bear in mind, this fag ALSO enjoyed saying nigger and making those kinds of jokes as well! Oh, but now you can't point out his hypocrisy because now he's a troon now! Immune to criticism! Respect my pronouns you racist bigot!
As I said, I never really knew the guy, but it always seemed to me like he got along with most people. The fact that he was willing to dump his friend, and possibly more, for the approval of some twisted invisible cadre disgusts me to no end. I'm sure it goes without saying, but a friendship shouldn't be sacrificed like that.
