@liaizon @cheeaun @pfefferle @phanpy People icon might work.
Here’s Ivory’s take for comparison:
@cheeaun We’ll have it soon in AP for WordPress - we don’t have a “specific people” option though https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-activitypub/pull/931
@cheeaun Without making a new icon, we have to choose from something built-in: https://wordpress.github.io/gutenberg/?path=/docs/icons-icon--docs
@pfefferle were there any other good candidates?
@evan You could use https://www.beeper.com or https://texts.com from us! The new version of Beeper will use Texts' local/private architecture, but Beeper will probably work better for now. It supports the majority of your list!
@darnell @pfefferle @wordpressdotcom Would love to hear what stood out as missing! There's a ton to do.
@rez Where did you get that idea? Free sites can opt-in to the fediverse. We do try to upsell you to a domain but you don't need it.
And we contribute to Mastodon with @pfefferle reporting interop bugs 😅
Nearly a year later, this number has grown right around 1K/month, for a fresh total of 11453 sites opted-in to the fediverse on WordPress.com #WordPress #ActivityPub https://mastodon.social/@mattwiebe/111256730476464370
@pfefferle @deadsuperhero @alex +1 very cool!
Getting this warning when I activate it:
`Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property Kirki\Field\Repeater::$compiler is deprecated in wp-content/themes/Micron/functions/kirki/kirki-packages/compatibility/src/Field.php on line 305`
(going off of Mastodon's inline translation here)
> If I do not want to use this dialog window as a blog (because too big), but simply as a link in the menu or similar, what do I have to do?
You could link to your profile there with a custom link in a menu but that will just direct people back to your site that doesn't have a follow button. We have a request to make a version of the block with *only* the Follow button, which would probably fit into a menu area?
@imarc @pfefferle I was able to follow @imarc.co.uk ok from my Mastodon account here, didn't see anything about follow approval
@imarc @Callistobeast @pfefferle we're looking into it! Just tried a potential fix that didn't work.
@pfefferle @steven yup we think you'll like a custom domain better but it works just fine as `somesubdomain.wordpress.com@somesubdomain.wordpress.com` on a free site.
Hello, world. Starting to work on ActivityPub for wordpress.com this week with @pfefferle!
@pfefferle Pleased to see all the support for `feed@` 😤
