My first email was a juno address, around 1997. They put floppies containing a little dialer prog in the back of magazines and you could get a free dialup email account.

Juno is still around, and still offering 10 hours per month free dialup internet access. i was thinking about how fun it would be to post to mastodon from my free dialup account. but i dont have modem. or a phone line.

you can still buy modems! US Robotics markets them as super secure backup connections. check this out!

taking #ivory for a test drive on iOS. i was content to use the mobile web interface but the glitchy bits became too annoying on my tiny phone (12 mini)

$15 for a year is affordable for me and id like to support the development of fedi apps. so far it is nice. clean, obvious tweetbot heritage.

@Viss a weird thing i recently learned talking to a person affected by pretty severe psoriasis, they had bad rashes everywhere except where they were tattooed

an engineer with my agency just reported that they are on a call with some folks from City of Columbus OH.

they are doing city business on personal devices because City IT systems are still unavailable.

since swapping booze for tea i sleep better and my head is clearer. which would seem like a good thing except now its easier to see just how fucked we really are.

many people have that teacher or class that “changed their life” and i suspect that is a simplified way of communicating some of what Paul describes.
