tonight in sonoma, on my way to the russian river brewpub, i enounterd a parade! the Santa Rosa Taco Tuesday Ride! at least 50 bicycles of all types, with neon lights and music and weirdos in costumes pedaled down 4th street to cheers and shouts. my heart exploded right there on the sidewalk.

My first email was a juno address, around 1997. They put floppies containing a little dialer prog in the back of magazines and you could get a free dialup email account.

Juno is still around, and still offering 10 hours per month free dialup internet access. i was thinking about how fun it would be to post to mastodon from my free dialup account. but i dont have modem. or a phone line.

you can still buy modems! US Robotics markets them as super secure backup connections. check this out!
