question for you all. plumber is trying to sell me on a whole house water filtration system to go with some other kinda required plumbing work around the house. Would it be worth it? I'm kinda leaning towards no, because Michigan's water quality in general (not counting northern michigan, because its all well water up there), is generally okay, but I'm looking for opinions.

@da_667 City water is typically “safe” and doesnt need additional treatment or filtering.
That said, every time a pipeline breaks there is a chance of a slug of dirt hitting your house. Also, if you have an electric water heater, especially a tankless, filtering out suspended minerals can reduce scale and maybe extent life.
So, maybe?

@h2onolan @da_667 Does your city still have lead pipes? What level of PFAS is in your water?
If you can get an RO system in for your drinking water, do it. -

@tk @da_667 @h2onolan better check your state laws to see if it's legal, first. In some states it's not. Rainwater is legally owned by the farmers in Colorado, for example. -
