@berryman @derek came to say the same... your desktop background is rad.
@skinnylatte I am really enjoying all these local Monterey tips from you. Every June I travel out to your area, as I am a drone mapping instructor and co-organizer of a week-long academic/conservation drone workshop at CSUMB. https://dronecampca.org/ It's so damn beautiful around there, and I usually spend time exploring the area when I'm there. (We do have people from MBARI in the workshop from time to time.)
Stirring up some old memories.

Background: I have two nodes, which can't see any other nodes besides each other. So, for some actual connections I connected one to an internet gateway (MQTT) so it is receiving messages on a local (Ohio) channel.
Meshtastic is an interesting technology for experimentation, but it helps to have a specific use case in mind. Most communication is basically "hello? is this thing on?"

@_elena I'm interested to read the admin responses here. I auto delete my posts both so I can be polite about storage, and also for the privacy benefits.
Storage and upkeep are the main reasons I never considered self-hosting my own masto, even though I often do with other services.
My personal policy is that anything I want to endure should be on my blog.
People cheering the Onion today may not know they re-introduced goddamn hand-holdable paper subscriptions this year. $99 gets you a dozen and a big ole warm fuzzy. โค๏ธ
Imma set up @ejabberd and kick the tires on some #XMPP clients later this week. If any is up for some test chats, let me know.
Edit: until I set up my own server, I can be reached on: coreysnipes@xmpp.jp
@evan The recent This American Life podcast about that specific scenario is really good. https://www.thisamericanlife.org/843/a-little-bit-of-power
@inthehands That looks exceptional. TY for the tip. I mostly don't track games but am starting to pay more attention for my kids.
Trying to locate that last 2.2%
๐โ๏ธ Found and finished the final 2.2% on a beautiful afternoon. Woo!
Tried some croissants in the solar oven. 50 minutes was too long, but still. Bread from the sun! โ๏ธ

@inthehands Thank you. Even in the early days I'm finding both are very true.
As a new educator in a community college setting, this thread on learning and teaching is deeply relevant and insightful. Thanks, Paul @inthehands
