This reality you have there actually is just a simple mirror of the (almost) entire society. For all this situation you can only blame idiots from your own government and the bunch of morons who choosed them. No one else. Sorry for being direct, but it is, as it is. Stupid causes lead always to equally if not more stupid results. It's an simple logic. Nothing more than that.

And at the end we all have even worse mess actually, than we had before. Typical EU crap! @Gargron What difference does it makes if the private messages here aren't still encrypted and can be accessed by the 3-letter US organizations as they wish even without your knowledge?
They can harvest anything, any data about anyone they want from here and we all know exactly that something like this is possible. The weakest link is always the human. And if your moderators can read them, so can anyone else. Accidentally and on purpose. Even forcefully. That's pretty obvious. So.. you know.

@dansup @pixelfed I hope for those bug-fixes, because this latest beta is horrible and mostly unusable.
By going to settings and want to change something in the profile app force closes without any traces in the logs.
No dark mode, no media download option, no gif playback stopping option, hashtag follow/unfollow doesn't work, no auto unhide media marked as CC and many, many more issues are present there. Such app state should be considered as an early alpha, instead of beta. Imho.
