G. K. Chesterton once remarked on building a fence in a community: Modernizers and quick-fixers tend to go to a location, see a missing fence, and just build it, problems unfold afterward. Chesterton advises (in a narrative way), that you first take a good amount of time to understand WHY someone has not yet built a fence there (because the reasons might be more deep than you think).
Same goes for tearing down structures.

Most of what I found about the circular economy appears to be end consumer facing romanticism that is not well informed by how production and re-use on scale actually happens. And I am missing a big amount of industrial and infrastructure perspectives. I.e. how to reuse big specialised maschines or re-use already existing canals. Another part is polluted industrial sides. I have the impression that the circular economy thinkers do not tackle this problem at all...

@simsa03 The source slapped at the end of this is the Oxfam "Climate Equality: A planet for the 99%" Report from 2023, the context in which it is stated (p.18 of the report) makes it appear to be 21rst century.
