Just for once I am actually 'ahead of the curve' regarding Bandcamp Friday 😸

I have two albums on offer, for what old Englanders like me might term, "Next to bugger all" and all of the nineteen tracks are available individually for, well, even less 👍😁

I would say my tunes are "Great!" if I was the sort of person that could say such things 🤔😊

@nazgul @mhoye very good point and yes, I remember it seemed to just fizzle, which was a relief really bearing in mind what might have happened. The slide into a crime gangs/oligarchy was very sad to see, and again one can't help seeing parallels.

I can't help keep remembering how 'utterly unthinkable' it was (for most folks by far) that the USSR would actually collapse. Even in the weeks before... It did.

Anyone can say 'it was obviously coming'... in hindsight... but I was an aware adult through the 1980s (30 in 1988) and the 'fall' of the USSR just wasn't a topic, certainly not in the mainstream.

As a kid trying (failing dismally) to learn French, I never got my head around the gendering of nouns. Coming from a language that doesn't have that it just seemed rather bizarre. However it seems to be a very common practice in languages and I wonder if anyone can tell me if 'most' languages have gendered nouns or whether (like English) they don't?

I'd walk into a beautiful café bar and find them playing Sphere Of Innocence over the sound system at just the right volume and heh, the espresso is perfect, and free! As is everything else in the café because these things are essential services for a happy and fulfilled population... You may say that I'm a dreamer... 😊

Scariest bit was when it first 'struck' - woke up, got out of bed (sounding like a Beatles song now 😂) and whoah!! Massive vertigo, room kept moving etc. I must admit I was seriously worried and thinking "Oh shit!"

Bit of net research and reading gave some hope and I really was amazed that the simple exercise fixed it. That was a few years ago and so far not a sign of it since.

@thanius Best of luck, I had it a few years ago and to my amazement the exercise did work - the version that I used was rather less vigorous though... it was on an advice sheet I downloaded from a UK hospital service - too long ago for me to recall now, sorry.

Whoo! Finally started my mix-tape for the 2020s! All are tracks that have caught my ear on #radiofreefedi and I will be adding more. Had to limit spend as I'm in 'prudent' mode for a while yet, but I will get to 'round two' early next month and sweep up more tracks by those I reluctantly had to miss out on this time. If I could afford to buy everyone's full albums... I would 😁

(Yet 🙄) another of my little observations about the music I hear on #radiofreefedi ... It's so nice to hear all these singing voices that are their own, without the 'expected' and contrived stylings designed to hit targeted markets with *product*.

Genuine lyrics make a big difference to me too, in fact (as a wizened old goat) I find 'heartfelt' vocalising of a lyric that could be my groceries shopping list... unbearable. #singing #lyrics

If I listed the singers I 💖 on here I'd run out of....😁
