Some of the browner people I know seem kind of annoyed with white people going out of their way to jump in and be allies to Palestinians now when their nightmares grow in number. Like who cares about domestic policies anymore regarding discrimination? Nope, too busy worrying about how they can make hell here about a war they have little knowledge nor control over.

@Yehuda This is one of those settings that has improved my experience on Mastodon. I also have notifications turned off for non-followers when it comes to other stuff. I have had way less hostile conversations this way. I simply don’t see most of the reply guys.

@keithmorrisnm DK Rico Suave knew exactly what the ladies wanted. Giving a glance here. An impassioned look there. Being strong but gentle. Being distant but feeling close. Even behind a wall they felt his reassuring grasp.

@raf I don’t see a really secure future for Israel if he clings onto power. Removing him from power would be a good start.

@dukepaaron Someone mentioned “Christians being killed in Gaza by IDF at a church” and my thoughts on that was exactly what I think about most of the victims in Gaza. Israel made clear their intentions and gave instructions globally. They went to great lengths and made sacrifices to attempt to evacuate civilians from the battlefield. Strangely, no one brings up deaths in Gaza makes any mention of Hamas’ responsibility to protect their citizens. Somehow, it’s always Israel to blame.

I'm not a tech person, I'm a culture person, & I guess my critique of Threads is that it will almost certainly bring in celebrities along with their powerful, plundering business interests.

Threads will suck the air out of the room, creatively speaking, & when our timelines start to look like tv it will be *over.* The really creative folks who are allergic to advertising & profit will have to look for a new space yet again.
