People's willingness to shield and protect their antisemitic friends is why the Fediverse is so hostile to Jewish people.

There are not that many Jew haters on this network. If more non-Jewish people were willing to step up and call out these haters, you'd see a lot more Jewish people here vs back at Twitter.

The real issue is people starting with a solution instead of their problem. But I thought ConvNets have been great for bird and plant identifying mobile apps.

This is really good. I should add that we should embrace the pluralism of the fediverse. Some instances will likely not be able to ever freely federate with one another even if there is nothing wrong with either community.

An instance for spiders and an instance for people afraid of spiders won't readily get along. Similarly, a religious instance where nudity is frowned upon and a nudist instance will have different norms.

That negotiation of norms across instances is crucial for making the fediverse safe and we are all still very bad at it.

Jewish quotas in university and being banned from social clubs is still in living memory. I don't know why these specific questions were chosen, but I don't think a survey is the worst way to try to measure antisemitism.

Also if you are interested in how prevalent bigoted beliefs are within in a population, I'm not sure anything other than a properly conducted survey will work
