@QasimRashid Empathy isn't sympathy. Empathy is the ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes. If I picture myself doing and saying what Charlie Kirk has done and said, then yeah, I can imagine pissing off someone so much that they would want to kill me. Empathy, sure. But no sympathy, ever, for Nazis.
@dalias@briankrebs Many of the kids are not OK. At least 1 in 5 high school students who I work with are using chatbots to cheat on all of their assignments.
"No reasonable progressive activist would have suggested, at any point, that these massive companies were genuine friends or allies. But now, the social networks — and the broader tech industry that has enabled more than a decade of American mass movements — are more clearly identified with, or even as, the enemy. This reality has been missing from a lot of the commentary on L.A."
@btp@Gina@fosstodon.org@gina To be clear, filtering words like "queer" and "trans" isn't about not wanting to contribute to such discussions, it's about not wanting to even SEE such discussions. Fucking be honest about it.
@AnarchoNinaWrites This one? With the lenticular cover, a book, and two discs? Essential. Can you believe I had a chance to see them play this very show along with Lush, but it was a school night, so… ;(
@AnarchoNinaWrites I was coincidentally listening to this album today and agree with ranking it number two. The way the songs are ordered, though, which I'm fussy about, could have been different. Kyoto Song shouldn't be second, it's too slow. Baby Screams should've been in that spot. Go with that one.
