Oh really. Friend I mentioned deep into conspiracy theories just tried to get me to read and take seriously Corey’s Digs. Yikes. Ever come across her site? Investigative journalism she calls it. Pseudoscience much? Vast global conspiracies and decades of human mind enslavement strategy assumed. Oh. Dear.
@Vai@jadevol This guy! I never read up on his history, but Jimmy Page has one of the most interesting histories and has worked with an amazing number of artists as a session musician. The Wikipedia entry is well worth the read. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Page?wprov=sfti1#
@Caiotekit I have thought of small anecdotes from this book over and over. When you are the caregiver it’s hard to see how you are being lead into some feelings, confusion and upset just by how your own brain reacts to another’s dysfunction. I’m so glad you wrote about your reaction to this book! I can think of a few folks I know of who I hope will try it out. @caregivers#Caregiver#Alzheimer#AlzheimersSucks#Dementia
It wasn’t a fluke Monday, this afternoon Drew went right into the pool, began walking in it and is now enjoying the pool sling chair. We are so thrilled he’s getting exercise again after 7 months without.
I’ve heard physical therapists often wish they could get their patients who have dementia into a swimming pool but it’s really scary to some folks. And you need help! Drew maybe is doing well because he had swimming lessons starting at 6 months’ old. They say as dementia progresses the person emotionally thinks most about when they were much younger. Also lucky we don’t let him stay in his bedroom during the day and we get him out 3 times a week even if only a ride. We go go go while he can.
@IveyJanette@blogdiva Yes! When the full force hit Occupy I was crushed. It had been the first time in years I thought the youth finally could rise up again. The military overkill is a juggernaut of authoritarian evil no matter who is in political power.
@blogdiva It SHOULD be in most public universities but I think a decade or so of violent militarized police may have had the intended toll. The #BLM protests sure were slammed down. As were the #WaterIsLife protests.
@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes thanks for your excellent summary. Entirely agree with you. Should have had a very abrupt halt to sending weapons months and months ago when it became clear what the IDF plan was.
@ct_bergstrom I was channeling you while I was trying to get shots of the roadrunner, grackles and woodpecker in Patagonia, AZ this week. Decided grackles really have little class next to your corvids. This willet is in wonderful light here.
Sincerely wanting your opinions about this persistent ad I am seeing on a news site. Mine are: 1. Isn’t this a rather unpleasant portrait? 2. The red bag doesn’t look more appealing in this ad. 3. What is the purpose of using an androgynous model? 4. Who is this ad targeted to? 5. Is the view outside supposed to look like a view of a planet off in space? 6. Doesn’t this image look sad and lonely?
@ujeong1@doktrock versus interesting to read! My experiences with migration and transfer of dominant attention to Mastodon are reflected in your analysis. I’ve 3 of the particular themes your team analyzed: attention to both global and social interests with niche interests as important.
@clacke same surprise to me as well! I’ve saved it to my Notes. Because we all know that I wouldn’t have saved the link if I wasn’t planning on sharing it. Sometime when they least expect it. Thanks for the smiles.
This strategy of announcing a place of safety and then bombing it - how is this part of hunting down only Hamas? How is this “reducing the loss of civilians”? How is this not just revenge and bloodlust?
@goatsarah@CriticalCupcake Hey, that was my choice I came here to post! So now I’ll have to choose a shopping cart at a Walmart. And when I’m back to human again I guess I’ll need about 20 new vaccinations.
Would you take a drug like this: Common side effects of Briviact include: acute psychosis, balance impairment, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, sedated state, abnormal behavior, abnormal gait, aggressive behavior, agitation, anxiety, apathy, asthenia, ataxia, depressed mood, depression, hallucination, hypersomnia, lacrimation, lethargy, nervousness, nystagmus disorder, paranoid ideation …(Goes on! ) And then: Continue reading for a comprehensive list of adverse effects. My son has 8 months in.
@dangillmor maybe our future will include the necessary return of oral histories and passing on knowledge directly one to one in training and teaching.
@Mrfunkedude actually I’ve found my mental health steadily improving since getting more active with Mastodon. I did drop the notifications which I used for a month to be sure when I was adding a lot of people I could keep track. Had to stop notifications in Mastodon and then I figured out they also were coming through my iPhone settings.
