    LOL. Picked up two more followers on Bluesky now that I'm no longer lurking. Over a dozen now. (Most of them seem to be bots. I remember that before I made following approve-only on Twitter, these weird bot accounts were swarming around despite my already limited posting. The Bluesky followers are different, but still seem more like the Twitter bot-followers than like real people.)

    @simsa03 I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd split up more than a decade ago, but there were some things that happened in the next few years that set them up to live apart successfully. Namely, they both got much better jobs and moved to a bigger and better city.

    In their earlier situation, they couldn't afford to actually split, because neither could pay rent / utilities / food / transportation alone.

    Still, they didn't need to wait this long.

    One of the dogs has decided I'm their human. A few days ago, one of the kids dropped his plate of food on the floor. Doggo devoured it and has been releasing human-smelling gas every evening in my bedroom.

    But that seems to have worn off. Tonight it is dog gas.

    Grandson_3 and Grandson_4 decided to have a shootout in the back yard. They picked up some sticks that had fallen during a wind storm and they played it like they'd seen some of the westerns and cop movies that I watched as a kid.

    The thing is, the closest they've ever seen was some Star Wars cartoon that they haven't seen in 2+ years.

    I think Son_2 is going to buy them sponge dart guns ("Nerf guns" but probably not Nerf brand) because they found ways to leave marks on each other with the sticks.

    Phone call late last night with S. Her dad is in an assisted living place, so her brother is trying to sell the house. She has few resources and is trying to find a place quickly.

    Meanwhile, the agency is starting the process of pushing people out, so her limited resources could become nonexistent with little or no warning.

    I think I mentioned that Half_son's wife left him last year to join a "throuple". She took the kids with her, so he only gets to see them for a few hours on Sundays . I'm not sure when their divorce is final. He's got a newish long-distance girlfriend and is planning to move to where she lives soon.

    Today, Son_1 informed me that he filed for divorce from his wife. In this case, she moved into an apartment and he has the kids (two minor kids they share, one minor kid who got kicked out of her home and is staying there, and her oldest son [now 28 years old] whom she had before he met her). The 26 year old stepson lives separately, and is likely only going to maintain contact with his mother.

    They had a strange relationship. They'd almost divorced several years ago but made up ... they did things like work separate shifts so they were hardly ever home and awake at the same time and have two separate "family chat" groups with the kids ... one with her included, one without her.

    But I suppose another way of looking at it is which direction is galactic north? On Earth, the planet rotates counter-clockwise or west to east if north is "up". So maybe Milky Way's north is sort of "down" from our perspective.

    RE: the bluish tone seen after cataract surgery

    I have also read that it sometimes confers the ability to see some ultaviolet colors. I'm not sure whether that means wearing sunglasses all the time.

    @fu First of all, I'm glad you're trying to take charge of your health. Best wishes for successfully mitigating the heart issues.

    As for Tuesdays, I know that seems to be the day the food places have their special deals, so I expect that's the day people are less likely to eat out without a discount. I have no idea if that's relevant to your situation, though.

    @sun From what I read, as a child, he was smaller than most of his peers and got picked on a lot. That would probably be the most fitting punishment.
