    @lss Yes - the license ensures the software remains free.

    Once you receive a copy of the software, you're free to also personally use it without a license.

    @HSTG @kaia 304 and 316 actually becomes magnetic as soon as you put a bend in it, although the magnetism so weak that you probably won't even notice when checking with magnet.

    I reckon it's closer to 95%.

    @SuperDicq The Linux foundation doesn't even use that kernel in the systemd OS - they use window or macos.

    Not that I use it, but systemd is at least free software.

    Slackware is nonfree too; https://www.gnu.org/distros/common-distros.html#Slackware

    There is of course a freed version called freenix.

    @izaya I like to do the write pattern of "write a 50GB or 100GB file to disk" without having the drive slow down to 1MiB/s after the first ~20GiB personally.

    I would use bloatFE in Emacs web wowser if only eww could be torified.

    @izaya It's not about giving more capacity for cheaper - it's about offering the same capacity and price as before, except at a lower cost for them, for a massive speed penalty.

    The largest HDD's do not use SMR after all.
