"The ubiquitous ESP32 microchip made by Chinese manufacturer Espressif and used by over 1 billion units as of 2023 contains an undocumented "backdoor" that could be leveraged for attacks."
While checking an old FreeBSD machine today, I thought to myself, there must already be a tool or script that summarizes all cron jobs by date/time, including those in jails 🤔
Might be fun to write something myself, because having some jails in different timezones is always interesting
"What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance. Orwell feared we would become a captive culture. Huxley feared we would become a trivial culture." — Neil Postman
@me@tunubesecamirio
Fediverse servers could very well benefit from an additional information tab that admins could enable to display the running costs of the instance for transparency and donation purposes 🤔
Wouldn't it be incredibly ironic if the strongest selling point of EU tech services to the rest of the world turned out to be its privacy and user protection?
@xenotar I've been hunting for a solid guide to turn off all the junk, and it's been exhausting. Especially on a Windows machine, there's no way I'd blindly run some random third-party PowerShell script 😕
