A lot of latinos (mainly from Argentina) who couldn't be arsed to afford a new computer just so they can run Steam (proprietary goyslop DRM) after their ol' reliable was labeled obsolete thanks to Goolag dropping support for Windows 8.1 and earlier because "muh security" or some other excuse to dickride M$ and their updooter-filled userbase instead decide to go for cracked versions of CS 1.6 with their own server lists, just so they could rush B like the good old days.

I've heard that M$ thought it was a good idea to make Windows 10 users have to cope with them shilling their AI garbage "enhanced" ARM-powered craptops alongside the Windows 11 updoot shilling, so I went 'fuck it' and installed Void Linux. At least it doesn't use soystemd!

@sicp You know what would be a good idea? Dual booting one systemd-less distro with another! GRUB exists for a reason, y'know? If I want to use Void, I could do that. If I want to use Slackware, the ol' reliable since '93, I could go right ahead and shove it onto a seperate SSD. Thanks for the suggestion, guujyon!

how many times am i gonna ask this damn question but I REALLY NEED A GOOD IRC SERVER THAT

    1. IS NOT THE BIG ONES (i.e. no libera, no rizon, etc)

    2. IS AT LEAST SOMEWHAT ACTIVE (i.e. not filled with nothing but idlers who are about as meaningful as mirror dwellers in VRChat)

    3. IS HOSTED BY A FEDI USER WHO IS NOT A MASTODONGER (preferably)

    4. IS ACTUALLY WORTH A SHIT (doesn't matter if it's tightknit or not, it still has to treat me with actual fucking respect)

please tag me if you've got any good picks, thanks.
btw don't go something among the likes of "ERM ACKSHUALLY IRC IS DEAD. GO USE XMPP OR SOME OTHER ENCRYPTED PROTOCOL INSTEAD 🤓☝️" as well.

@Suiseiseki I swear, these people just pretend that GNU doesn't exist, or clearly haven't read rms' blog articles and agree with his personal views towards stuff like Discord. I mean, what's wrong with using ERC with Emacs to connect to an IRC server? These people clearly haven't gotten the memo that Discord is about as vile as you can get in terms of spyware "web apps", yet these unwilling consumers think it's the end-all be-all replacement to stuff like IRC, forums, or even file hosts.

Here's a simple HTML test page done using Emacs. For context: C-c RET is for <p> (paragraph) blocks, C-c 1 is for <h1> (header 1) blocks, just in case you forgot, or are new to the ways of the Church of Emacs.

@Suiseiseki @SuperDicq Curiously enough, my country of Chile is pronounced チリ, which probably makes sense as it was derived from the country's former English name, if you think about it.

Hey, can someone hook me up with ACTUAL free software? Not this "open source" shit, nor any proprietary slop.
