Kinda but the idea of intellectual property is pretty old (Somewhere in the BCs) and wasn't created by anglos. England coined the term I think, but it was more in response to retro fedposting and wanting to control what people were printing rather than copying existing works. Then they went into author's rights/publisher limits a bit, but it didn't blow up into the insanity we know now until muricans took the baton (particularly in very jew saturated fields) from there.

Copyright hadn't killed anyone until it was out of our hands, as far as I'm aware, which is where the problem started imo. Intellectual property rights makes sense to me right up until it's causing unnecessary mass deaths through the monopolies like big pharma.
