The Chads won't be safe much longer. The foids will declare it rape when Chad uses them for sex. This is how things already work in India where "rape" can mean simply refusing to marry your girlfriend.

This ends in one of two ways: we take women's rights away, or they take our rights away.

    Which way, western man?

@Tony @Tfmonkey It is kind of stupid for people to panic about this. These laws were on the books in the US years ago; they were ditched in the 20th century. It was called "alienation of affection", you know, you could catch a charge if you promised to marry a girl, screwed her, and then didn't marry her. It's kinda dopey when people that want to retvrn panic about retvrning because they don't know what they were retvrning to.

Lucky Baldwin got charged with this a few times. (He actually got shot by the sister of one of the girls that was charging him while he was on the stand testifying.)

@Tony @Tfmonkey Yep: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breach_of_promise#United_States . Alienation of affection was apparently a different thing, that was about adultery.

      > In the United States, most states repealed breach-of-promise laws or limited them, beginning in 1935.[5] Partly as a result, expensive diamond engagement rings, previously uncommon, began to become commonplace, and formed a sort of financial security for the woman.[5] About one-half of U.S. states still permit such lawsuits, according to the National Paralegal College. Examples of such suits include a jury award of $150,000 in the 2008 Shell case in Georgia,[4] and $130,000 in a North Carolina jury trial December 17, 2010, in the case of Dellinger v. Barnes (No. 08 CVS 1006). Laws vary by state. In Illinois, for example, documented wedding expenses can be recovered, but damages for emotional distress are prohibited, and notice of an intent to sue must be provided within three months of the engagement being dissolved.[16]

        Breach of promise
Breach of promise is a common-law tort, abolished in many jurisdictions. It was also called breach of contract to marry, and the remedy awarded was known as heart balm. From at least the Middle Ages to the early 20th century, many jurisdictions regarded a man's promise of engagement to marry a woman as a legally binding contract. If the man subsequently changed his mind, he would be said to be in "breach" of this promise and could be subject to litigation for damages. The converse of that was seldom true. The concept that "it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind" had at least some basis in law (though a woman might pay a high social price for exercising this privilege). Unless a dowry of money or property had changed hands, or the woman could be shown to have become engaged to a man only to enable her use of his money, a man could rarely recover in a "breach of promise" suit against a woman if he was even allowed to file one. Changing social attitudes toward morals have led to a decline in the number of legal actions in response to "jilting". Most jurisdictions, at least in the English-speaking common-law world, have become increasingly...

@dc @Tony @Tfmonkey Everything was legal. Morphine addiction was called "the soldier's disease" after the Civil War because they'd go buy a bottle of morphine and drink it. (Machining tech to produce hypodermic needles was still a few decades out; I don't remember the exact timeline but injections were done, when they were done, by cutting a hole in you and then using a needle the size of a dang nail.)

      > 1937

Lefties shit on me for shitting on FDR.

Incidentally, the really punitive shit was signed under JFK: https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/treaties/single-convention.html , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_Convention_on_Narcotic_Drugs . CIA had just hit the top of its game and the treaty to ban drugs made it more lucrative to be a drug-runner if you could pull it off. It makes me wonder, like, people say shit like "They didn't learn anything from the Prohibition!" and then, like...maybe the CIA got into this shit because they *did* learn from the Prohibition, just "this is how you create and control a black market" rather than "people will get the drugs anyway".

        Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs
The Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1961 (also called the Single Convention, 1961 Convention, or C61) is an international treaty that controls activities (cultivation, production, supply, trade, transport) involving specific narcotic drugs and lays down a system of regulations (licenses, measures for treatment, research, etc.) for their medical and scientific uses, concluded under the auspices of the United Nations. The convention also establishes the International Narcotics Control Board. The Single Convention was adopted in 1961 and amended in 1972. As of 2022, the Single Convention as amended has been ratified by 186 countries. The convention has since been supplemented by the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances, which controls LSD, MDMA, and other psychoactive pharmaceuticals, and the 1988 United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances; the three conventions establish the legal framework for international drug control. Ratification The Single Convention as amended in 1972 had been ratified...

@dsm @f0x @Tfmonkey @Tony That was in the GI booklet for US soldiers stationed in Ireland, like, they had to be careful about being seen in public with a girl too many times because this would create an expectation of marriage.

The other side, the ones stationed in France, something like "101 Misconceptions About the French", and that book said things like "The French are not actually averse to bathing, they only smell bad because war is really hard and they can't afford soap."

Sounds a lot like it would have been preferable to be stationed in Ireland.

He got Taft to endorse the world government plan, also, like, directly: time has come for a single body of law and a single court system for the whole world so that there will never be any more wars, etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_to_Enforce_Peace , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palais_Wilson . Incidentally, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_of_Nations :

      > Although the United States never joined, unofficial observers became more and more involved, especially in the 1930s. American philanthropies became heavily involved, especially the Rockefeller Foundation.

        League to Enforce Peace
The League to Enforce Peace was a non-state American organization established in 1915 to promote the formation of an international body for world peace. It was formed at Independence Hall in Philadelphia by American citizens concerned by the outbreak of World War I in Europe. Support for the league dissolved and it ceased operations by 1923. History Early 20th century In 1905, Theodore Roosevelt, often in coordination with Republican leaders Henry Cabot Lodge and William Howard Taft, began offering proposals for the formation of a League of Nations to advance world peace. In his 1905 annual message to Congress, Roosevelt identified the need for some method of control of offending nations, which would ultimately become the responsibility of an international body. In his Nobel Prize acceptance address, Roosevelt said: "it would be a master stroke if those great Powers honestly bent on peace would form a League of Peace, not only to keep the peace among themselves, but to prevent, by force if necessary, its being broken by others." The planned...

        Palais Wilson
The Palais Wilson (Wilson Palace) in Geneva, Switzerland, is the current headquarters of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. It was also the headquarters of the League of Nations from 1 November 1920 until that body moved its premises to the Palais des Nations on 17 February 1936, which was constructed between 1929 and 1938, also in Geneva. In 1924, the building was named after U.S. president Woodrow Wilson, who was instrumental to the foundation of the League of Nations. The treaty bodies also hold their sessions in the Palais Wilson. In 1932, a glass annex was built to host the 1932 Conference on Disarmament. The Secretariat of the International Bureau of Education occupied the building from 1937 to 1984. The annex was destroyed in a fire in 1987. The building, located on the western side of Lake Geneva, is one of the most prominent on the waterfront. The five-story and 225-room building by Lake Geneva was originally constructed between 1873 and 1875 for use by the Hôtel National. When Switzerland joined the then newly created League of Nations in 1920, the premises became the world body's headquarters. ...

        League of Nations
The League of Nations (LN or LoN; French: Société des Nations [sɔsjete de nɑsjɔ̃], SdN) was the first worldwide intergovernmental organisation whose principal mission was to maintain world peace. It was founded on 10 January 1920 by the Paris Peace Conference that ended the First World War. The main organisation ceased operations on 18 April 1946 when many of its components were relocated into the new United Nations (UN) which was created in the aftermath of the Second World War. The League of Nations was the precursor organisation to the United Nations. The League's primary goals were stated in its eponymous Covenant. They included preventing wars through collective security and disarmament and settling international disputes through negotiation and arbitration. Its other concerns included labour conditions, just treatment of native inhabitants, human and drug trafficking, the arms trade, global health, prisoners of war, and protection of minorities in Europe. The Covenant of the League of Nations was signed on 28 June 1919 as Part I of...

The demand basically demanded a monetary settlement under the theory that wife's community property was liable. I did the typical defense dog and pony show — no it's not, and even if it is, I'll make this an expensive mess. No suit was ever filed.

Also husband isn't acting on behalf of the community when he's banging another woman, and they were already separated anyway, so no community to act for, and a petition for dissolution had been filed, which converts the community into an equity subject to the courts jurisdiction and division.

No. I knew both her and her husband professionally. She was actually very thin. She was an aussie though. A complete bitch. Husband was cool af. They were separated at the time, and they were handling their own divorce. It was amicable. Woman was his high school sweetheart. I was actually called upon by both, but as to wife's liability (community property liability) because of the multi-jurisdictional issues, e.g. North Carolina tort law, California property law, and likely a federal venue.

      > yeah, it’s important to remember that whatever the final end-state of repealing feminism is

I think it's important to remember if you expect it to happen.

      > it’s not going to be a one-sided fuckparty where guys can get their dick wet without consequences and women have to shut up and be in the kitchen

See, this is the thing, right, it's falling for the 1970s academics' version of events, right, and they painted a very different picture of the 1950s than someone that was alive in the 1950s does. The 70s feminist characterization of society seems to be more like what you'd observe if your parents were rich: so those women on the Upper East Side of New York, their husbands are out carousing and the wife is saddled with all the shit and can't leave the house and her only function is to look pretty and produce an heir, whatever. It's a vision of the past that you can only believe if you've never listened to any stories from people that were alive, never read a book from that time or before to see who had what sensibilities, never looked at history to see what changed and when.

So, the man-o-cracy guys just sort of uncritically accepted the 1970s feminist academic painting of the past: they babble about going back in time to a time that never existed.

      > in the world where women are forbidden by law to cock-hop

This seems like a bad law; I'm sure there are some people that like the idea, but I figure they can buy their own plane ticket to Dubai.

@p @Tony @Tfmonkey yeah, it’s important to remember that whatever the final end-state of repealing feminism is, it’s not going to be a one-sided fuckparty where guys can get their dick wet without consequences and women have to shut up and be in the kitchen

in the world where women are forbidden by law to cock-hop, then that implies, inter alia, that boffing a woman without going through a gauntlet of commitment is going to at the very least lead to serious and sanctioned consequences at the hands of the interested male in the equation (father, brother, current betrothed, whoever)

perhaps the count of available virgins will rise, and perhaps wahmen will be a lot happier as a result, but at the end of the day, the iron law will be “you break it you bought it and you’d better take care of it”

      > you’re going to have some kind of law on the topic, whether written or unwritten

If you can't understand why some things must be outside the purview of the state, or what the practical differences between something enforced socially and something enforced in civil courts or in criminal courts, I don't know how to help you.

      > what we have now is “effectively no written law preventing this in most places in the West”, plus “unwritten laws and practices strongly favoring maximum gynoliberty”, which is clearly not driving good outcomes

"The West". People use that and they intend to convey the US, Europe, Canada, Australia. Anyone in Europe can eat fifty dicks for all I care: peddle this stuff there, where you have a continent full of serfs.

You do not have, as far as I can tell, a universal definition of "good outcome" that I'd agree with. My opinion does not matter to you any more than yours would to me, though; the important part here is that you do not have a definition of "good outcome" that agrees with the CIA or the WBG or whoever.

This seems like a bad law

you’re going to have some kind of law on the topic, whether written or unwritten

a written law is probably the better choice, because while certainly unfair in certain corner cases, it is at the very least legible to all concerned and provides solutions for most relevant cases

what we have now is “effectively no written law preventing this in most places in the West”, plus “unwritten laws and practices strongly favoring maximum gynoliberty”, which is clearly not driving good outcomes

even under strict-libertarian rules, though, the same thing can be attained via contract assuming that honoring the contract can be compelled: okay let’s say there’s no official universal law, so does Jane Wannabeaslut get her pussy-pass revoked when she signs a contract saying that yes she is basically owned by John Husband and that he has specific enforceable rights to that end?

one could say “she won’t sign that”, but in that world her access to the goldmine of state-mandated wealth transfer from men is cut off, isn’t it now?

like it or not, the gravy train for wahmen is blowing the whistle for the final stop, and the future is going to look very different

@p @Tony @amerika @Tfmonkey driving it back to the equilibrium point where the law is clear and somewhat harsh on that score yet is informally not enforced in certain areas is the usual cure for this, same as homosexuality; “okay if you want to be a fucking degenerate, then do it over there —> and don’t let it come to anybody’s attention; if someone has cause to complain, then you’re going to get stomped”

Like Austin, its parts are remarkably similar while doing their best to look "different."
