    @themilkman @p @subnetter the problem with this model is that both parties have to want to make it work. If both do, anything can work. The issue is that it is, 90%, a one-sided effort.

    @p @subnetter @themilkman romanticism has been plaguing the idea of what love is at *least* since we could write. It as a movement has been terrible and around longer than boomers, though it may have gotten way worse with the boomerism that is "finding yourself" (the you that exists in absence of the structure you are surrounded with is not a complete or purer you, yes introspection and alone time are important but you without a role is less you than you by yourself). TLDR; A "casual" relationship is not a real thing.

    @bajax No I 100% do. I can model and understand broken systems, this doesn't mean I can't forever be flabbergasted and upset that it is that way.
    You know this is not a foreign idea to me. I remember explaining this exact concept around you at least twice. I'm hopeful and I preach such, not naïve.

    @bajax @dsm yeah, same here. I also don't think it's rape or should be punishable by law to do this even if this is really exactly how it went, just culturally/socially unacceptable to drop a person or not see things through.

    @dsm in that screenshot from the thread I'm tangentially subposting, the lady implies that the reason they broke up is because she was bad in bed or something. If that's actually true, the guy's a dick and she has to work on something, but if it isn't and it's just guesswork, then the guy's a dick and she may or may not have to work on something.

    It seems rare for people to give another person actionable advice. People don't argue correctly, people don't break up correctly, etcetera, because people are not problem oriented, they're pride oriented; this gets in the way of truth and progress.

    @dsm @Tony @p @Tfmonkey implicit rules like that are funny, like, in France you can accidentally date a woman by hanging out with her 1 on 1 too much. I remember there being similar social rules in Asiatic countries, youth wasting being heavily discouraged and punishable, etcetera.
