@ShowMeYourLibrary Sister, this is long, but I need your calm, level-headed, womanly advice, please. I have a friend that I've known a long time and she called me in tears a little while ago. She finally got pregnant after several years of trying and now her husband tells her that he's been cheating and is leaving her for another woman. She's still very pretty and hasn't let herself go or gotten fat (just a 4-month-pregnant belly) and asked me what to do. I told her to come over later. All I can come up with for advice to tell her is somehow not too helpful: 1. Tell her husband to visit and to seduce him (for old time's sake) and pull a Lorena Bobbitt on the sumbitch and throw it on a fireant hill. 2. Meet the homewrecking whore for lunch and carve her face with a steak knife so no man will ever look at her again. 3. Be a Christian, turn the other cheek, forgive them both, and raise her baby alone since so many men don't want another man's child to raise.
What Would French Do? Please and thank you. 😢 😡

I have a buddy who was like a total chad with a hot piece of ass who was a fire cracker Italian. The type of chick who would go fucking wild, throwing shit, yelling, etc. And in front of his friends, regularly.
He started working long hours, and she banged some other dude at the gym, though I don't know for how long or the details.
This was probably 20 years ago. They're still together and have kids.
I'd have kicked her to the curb though. I don't know how I could look my wife's eyes while fucking her and not think about it if she'd done the same. It would eat me alive.

Does anyone know of a couple where one was unfaithful but they tried to "fix it" and actually succeeded and last the rest of their lives?
Im gonna go ahead and say that number is zero.
I know of some who make that claim but I don't believe it at all. Its just something you dont come back from even if you spend years trying to make it otherwise.

This happened to a cousin of mine (pregnant with their 2nd child, beautiful, sweet girl). Hell, it happened to my mom years before me - also undeserving - buuut, red flag men.
Apart from legal advice you're getting from others, she needs to set up a support network for pregnancy, birthing, postpartum, etc, now, too. It also needs good men in it, like her brothers, dad, a close uncle maybe. Women can get very carried away emotionally, but especially when pregnant/postpartum. My heart goes out to her, though, & this might be unpopular opinion, but many single moms (wrong at times, for sure) don't seem to have a terrible time finding men. They may be single dads, too, or slightly less caliber than the pretty, jerk-ish "alpha" whose seed she bears now, but such is life. Upward & onward.

Great advice, Tulla! Thank you. I will tell her that when I'm not so aggravated at her right now with her still hoping he'll come back. If it were me, the sumbitch would have to sleep with one eye open, but I would never let him back, anyway.

Not that you asked but remember what Christ said when the jews where asking him when divorce is ok. Jesus said only in cases of sexual infidelity. Even though the old testament gave lots of reasons.
So what he/that husband did even upsets Jesus so its very serious.

Here's the plan:
1. Move out of state asap and as far away as possible. Make him think he's home free and doesn't have to file for divorce.
2. Have baby in the foreign state.
3. Wait until residency requirements for divorce and custody proceedings are met.
4. File for divorce and custody in the foreign state, so jurisdiction is forever there.
You're welcome.

That is not the point if I may humbly say. Christ is merely pointing out that thoughts are sins. That we must check these desires that lead to action. The penalty for adultery is death. Do you think Christ was saying a man who lusts after a married woman should be executed? Or was He saying there is more to living a righteous life than the letter of the Law. Which the Pharisees had corrupted.
Go find any example or mention of adultery in the Old Testament. It is always a married woman with a man who is not her husband. Any time a man lies with a woman that is not his wife, the status of that woman determines what happens next. Virgins become wives. Whores become nothing. Adultery is put to death. Except in the great exception of David and Bathsheba. He was king. Nobody was going to execute him. He also had her husband killed. So she simply became his wife. But the child by the adulterous act died. Though oddly enough the next child with her was Solomon. Which is the lineage for Jesus Christ Himself.

I’m not making a judgement. I only wanted to clarify the scriptures mentioned. The OT Law essentially guaranteed women financial and physical protection as long as they were faithful to their husbands. It put their fate in their hands by making it behavior based whether or not the man would provide for them. Which was a huge improvement to how it was previously of might makes right. And men are obviously much stronger than women.

@Rose @Captain80s @Scarlett @ShowMeYourLibrary if we look in Matthew 5:28:
"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
So i think i would classify it as Adultery, since Christ uses the Example of a man Committing Adultery here.

Would you agree to abide by this reasoning under similar circumstances?

I‘m sorry to interrupt, but adultery is when a married woman lies with a man who is not her husband. The Old Testament law would simply say both these women are now his wives and he is legally obligated to provide for both of them and his children by them. Of course modern law doesn’t allow for bigamy so the point is moot.

I did indecent exposure once but it's because I fainted in a skirt...
Nobody gave me money, they just pointed like I was strung-out (I was dead sober) & hurried their kids past me. Dammit.
