The penalty for adultery is death. Do you think Christ was saying a man who lusts after a married woman should be executed? Or was He saying there is more to living a righteous life than the letter of the Law. Which the Pharisees had corrupted.
Go find any example or mention of adultery in the Old Testament. It is always a married woman with a man who is not her husband. Any time a man lies with a woman that is not his wife, the status of that woman determines what happens next. Virgins become wives. Whores become nothing. Adultery is put to death. Except in the great exception of David and Bathsheba. He was king. Nobody was going to execute him. He also had her husband killed. So she simply became his wife. But the child by the adulterous act died. Though oddly enough the next child with her was Solomon. Which is the lineage for Jesus Christ Himself.
