    I've thought about this several times today, and it might not be a bad thing. I cannot think of much "progress" "civilization" has made in the last 25 years. I can think of the progress made from 1975 to 2000, and the progress made from 1950 to 1975, and from 1925 to 1950. But from 1900 to 1925 there wasn't much but a gradual deterioration into degeneracy. Maybe it is a 100 year cycle. Possibly, hopefully, maybe, this current degradation we are suffering will force us into a new cycle of positive progress before our descendants will have to repeat the process all over again. But it would be even better if we just implemented a permanent solution.
