It explains why modern Healthcare is like a call center. Everyone you talk to just refers you to someone else, and they all promise something will get done sometime in the future, but nothing ever happens, you get angry, and just want to hang up the phone.

Most preventative care is unnecessary too and they tend to find "things" that would be fine if left alone. Insurance companies kept pushing preventative care to reduce costs but it's literally made the whole situation worse.

I don't trust most modern medicine anyway and haven't gone to a doctor since 2019. I always do the HSA plan and roll them over when I leave a job. There's a lot packed away in there.

Doctors don't provide patients care anymore. I don't do med mal, but I could tell you stories just from people I know. Most doctors are incompetent and don't do shit, and patients get the run around.

What's worse is now that the profession is a necessary part of the economy, the focus will be on unions and job tenure and not patient care. It'll be to medicine what the public school system is to education. They won't do shit other than babysit and placate you until you die, while charging God awful sums of money.

@Humpleupagus @lain Well that; and in what does “healthcare” really consist ? ie the Quality consideration ? Not too long ago ”healthcare availability” was more or less synonymous with “vax availability”.

I just wish all states would at least adopt AZ's policy of allowing anyone to order any lab they want without a doctor being involved. That's a start for the more educated amongst us.

Yeah. California allows some test without orders, like hiv, but they're statutorily exempt from the general doctors order requirement. Quest can't draw here or ship for self draws for all other non-exempt tests.

I think it's absolute horse shit. I'm not asking anyone to interpret the test, which would require a medical license. I'm just testing the amount of a physical substance in my blood.

When you think about it, the state puts you to a choice of paying a doctor to sign off or foregoing testing. So much for self-determination. You have to use the state jew or die.

Imagine if the state required people to use attorneys to enter into contracts or to appear in court.

      > Excuse me, sir. Do you have an attorney's authorization for that contract?

      > Excuse me, sir. You must have an attorney to appear. You can't represent yourself. You're too stupid.

That's basically what we do in the context of medical care, but the frogs have been in the pot since the 1920s. The rule historically has been no licenses or prescriptions required.

Ours had a small office a few blocks away.

It's actually Medicare and stark law that killed that practice.

Basically, if a doctor collects even a single dollar of Medicare, they're bound by stark law in all contexts. Stark law has very strict rules and penalties for self-referrals, which can include simply sending a patient to your own nurse for a test. There are exemption for self-referrals in medical groups.

So basically, stark made the regulatory risk of private practice too high and legally complicated, so doctors formed medical groups. Those medical groups got bought up.... wash, rinse, repeat and now you have monsters like kaiser.

Don't ask me about how this changed malpractice and basically insulated doctors from a lot of liability (Kaiser kills people. It's a built in cost).

The rules are so retarded. I operate as a S-corp, but because I'm an officer, I have to include my insurance (paid by corp) as compensation (subject to income tax, but not fica). So it goes on the W-2 at 24k a year. I get a 24k expense on the corporate return though.

Then I have to deduct it as self-employment health insurance on my 1040, so -24k above the line.

So there is a savings (expense on the corporate side effectively passed through on the K-1). But the math is all retarded. Just make it tax free like any other employee, but a corporate expense. It sums out the same.

They can't even recommend trying non-pharmaceutical solutions. Look up DMAE for adhd, fatigue, or early alzheimers, msm for hairloss, or berberine for insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, or high triglycerides. These are just a few otcs that actually work for many people. Doctors can't even mention them.

Yeah. Triglycerides are like the ninja of energy storage. Is it a lipid, is it a carb? It's both.

It's the combination that will get you. I just tend to watch my carb intake, lean meat heavy, and make sure I burn any excess sugars.

Way low, man. Eat get to get rid of fat. When I was eating a lot of carbs and shit, it was a VERY generous number with both matrilineal and patrilineal families having history of heart disease.

We try and stick to 3-1 fat to protein and no more than 50g carbs a day. I usually shoot for no more than 30g, personally.
