I often wonder if the Soviet revolution that occurred over a century later could've been averted had Russian nobility surrendered to Napoleon. They were notoriously terrible even by monarch standards, if there had been a major power shakeup in the region maybe things wouldn't have gotten so dire that communism was able to gain a solid foothold. Napoleon was known for implementing reforms that ended the feudal system and granted freedom to serfs, a system which the Russian Empire would continue to cling to until it spawned Bolshevik demons that were instrumental in throwing the world into absolute chaos. -

Communism seems to be a historically transitory thing whereby backwards feudal countries speedrun industrialization in the most retarded way possible, usually lead by the "intelligentsia" which the peasants are to ignorant to know to not trust but instead hang. Said countries usually get over it like a bad flu after a few decades and a double-digit population percentage of senseless deaths.

the russians ignored that rule and napoleon's army ended up hanging around longer than expected

Think about it from the perspective of an illiterate peasant who knows not much more than how to grow potatoes on the lord's land under the lord's pay. There's all this land owned by the lord, but now the lord is dead. Who's to own the land now? Who's to decide how much you get paid and how much to sell the potatoes for? Nobody? Can't be nobody, that's just dumb. Me? Can't be me, I can't even read. Everybody? Now we're getting somewhere, like how a family runs. But who should decide for everybody? The father of course, and the father is the wisest in the family, so probably those smart people over there what can read books should get together and form a committee, like they keep saying "we" should do.
The concept of free will and free trade and private land ownership is completely foreign to a 10th-generation serf. The concept that this is in fact vastly superior to all other options just seems silly to him. The concept that central planning will lead to mass starvation would never even occur to him.

I never really thought about it that way, but I think I agree with the idea of what you're saying. America had its own struggles between labor and the capitalist class around the same time from grievances that weren't entirely unwarranted given the horrific labor conditions of the gilded age, but since we weren't still living under a feudal system a couple centuries after most of the western world had already outgrown it, we implemented reforms and survived without descending into communist insanity. -

The power of "intellections" in quotes will rapidly wane if the internet continues. Society will stratify between those who use their access to the sum total of human knowledge to learn and grow, and those who only use it as a dopamine drip. In a generation or two everyone will realize that the traditional forms of education are worthless, and that you just can't forcibly cram useful understanding of modern technology into the minds of unwilling children like reading and arithmetic.

I simplified the argument a little bit, he argued there are no plants besides Tesla's that still fully manufacture cars inside the US. That assertion was clearly wrong, but it was a verbal argument over VRChat so I couldn't be fucked to pull up browser windows to call him out on it and just worked with the assumption that it was true as I rekt him with examples of a Japanese manufacturer that I knew had plants that fully build cars inside the US. That ended up working in my favor since it exposed how he knew absolutely fucking nothing about tariffs. -

A man who thought I didn't understand how tariffs worked spent 45 minutes arguing against my objectively true claim that Toyota Camrys manufactured in a Kentucky plant would not be tariffed. This was after spending 15 minutes explaining to him that Tesla is in fact not the only company who builds cars in the US. People who hold stupid pieces of paper in reverence are often more confidently retarded than they are actually knowledgeable. -

It's always funny when some shitlib douche starts talking down to me like I'm an "uneducated" lesser on the Internet. Like that yuropoor dipshit I was dragged into a debate with last week about tariffs who opened with the assumption that I didn't understand the simple concept of a tariff and the economic impacts it has. Spoiler alert, I have a degree too, it's not much of a fucking achievement anymore and anybody who thinks having a horrendously expensive piece of paper makes them smarter than anybody else is working with a low 3-digit midwit IQ at best. -
