I simplified the argument a little bit, he argued there are no plants besides Tesla's that still fully manufacture cars inside the US. That assertion was clearly wrong, but it was a verbal argument over VRChat so I couldn't be fucked to pull up browser windows to call him out on it and just worked with the assumption that it was true as I rekt him with examples of a Japanese manufacturer that I knew had plants that fully build cars inside the US. That ended up working in my favor since it exposed how he knew absolutely fucking nothing about tariffs.
