- Embed this noticeI never really thought about it that way, but I think I agree with the idea of what you're saying. America had its own struggles between labor and the capitalist class around the same time from grievances that weren't entirely unwarranted given the horrific labor conditions of the gilded age, but since we weren't still living under a feudal system a couple centuries after most of the western world had already outgrown it, we implemented reforms and survived without descending into communist insanity.
