She's earnestly batshit crazy. Everyone, especially my husband, knows. I told her my middle had ear infection last year, but doctor said not so bad I couldn't try home remedies a day or two...
"The neighbor's kid had an ear infection as a kid. He died the next day..."😒
From what it sounds like to me, she's playing like she's a "hip conservative" when she's not by using the libtard slang (she's a leftist). She doesn't know what she's talking about.
She's a millennial, just like her mom, most likely. The MSM politicized the generations and mixed everyone up.
Gen X ended in 95. Millennials should be 96-2026. 2027 is when Gen Z starts.
Gen X were born after the enactment of Civil Rights Act of 1965
Millenials were born after the end of the recession and the enactment of voting rights act and the expiration of the period for states to ratify the equal rights amendment.
Each event, or combinations thereof, are viewed as major changes in he trajectory of American politics.
@lake_viking@Humpleupagus@breaker@GoyGirl Yeah, we're named after a novel that became the name of a band. Our feral upbringing and deep apathy seemed to fit a generation named after a mathematical holding digit. The fact that anywhere from 1/2 to 2/3rds of us were aborted also affected us in epigenetic ways we'll likely never understand.
Lmao does nobody know why they're called Gen X? The Roman numeral 10. Generations are 20 years and Gen Xers are born in the 10th generation of this country born on 1776.
Harvard just making shit up in this graph like it's a horoscope.
Yeah, I get that's the common thing, just saying it makes more sense to stick to the 20 years generation format so X should be 56-76'. They can get clever with whatever name and event they want, but having varying number of years and start/end years is just weird.
Busy with barfer, but see what I'm working with. Apparently it wasn't mostly Englishman in The Revolutionary...😒 She also default always acts like I'm a Republican when she knows I'm a flaming fascist. Love her🫶
I wouldn't put up with that shit. My wife wouldn't either. I know how to hard shut down people, and I taught my wife how to do it too. I can even make Italians stfu. I have skills. 😏
Oh, most people are shocked how rude I can be to her, but it doesn't phase her in the slightest. That's WHY I'm so brutal.
She can be funny, though (to MAKE FUN OF). We have a bingo of shit she'll say every time you see her for more than five minutes. She also has literal Munchausens syndrome & doctors appointments almost daily.
@samjayganges@CliffSecord@Humpleupagus@BattleDwarfGimli@GoyGirl@LatigoMorgan@pepsi_man I was maybe 20 or 21 years old when I saw a "serviceman rape in Okinawa" where I saw that the accused was black. A light bulb went off in my head, so I went to the campus library and looked up every case I could find in the past. They were always black. Oliver Stone made the rapists in Platoon White but even in Vietnam it was always blacks doing that
My theory is that the primary purpose of military pensions is the importation of foreign women, followed by the enabling of men who are basically empty husks drinking on the cheap in a Las Vegas area apartment while they drive a tricked out 4x4 or BMW
@pepsi_man@BattleDwarfGimli@GoyGirl@Humpleupagus@LatigoMorgan I heard grim stories from the Marines and State employees at the embassy. I spent less than a year there because the romance of what I was doing (very low level NGO shit, not very interesting. I was young) wore off pretty quickly
Here's a silly one. People who left the country and lived in the west would go back to visit and wear every piece of jewelry they owned to show off their relative wealth with their impoverished subsistence farmer relatives. They'd then call the embassy and ask to be rescued because they were "scared"
Kids doing drug shit, getting ripped off, getting in a tussle and then arrested by local cops complaining to the embassy. Fuck you
Grim - old local men who went overseas for 20 years, then either divorced their wife or she passed away, and then they are told by someone in their network who informs them of a young marriage-aged girl. They go back, she's older than they thought, they get their dick wet and lose all of their savings if they're lucky. If they're unlucky their Social Security check is sent to the country in perpetuity and they are in a shallow grave in the jungle
Western men, particularly the defectives, go there to live on SSI or disability because it's cheap. You can't just be a permanent resident without forking out a lot of money. They disappear a lot, and the neighboring countries will often trade off these defectives to spread the milking of their families around - jail, fines, etc.
They don't know how bakshish works, don't speak the language, and don't realize that they are, to the locals, not a person but a walking meal ticket
This checks out with other stories I've heard in military circles, especially when it comes to southeast Asia. Back in 2007, I had an acquaintance I worked with; shortly before he left the service, he was telling me about 'a woman he met while on leave in Thailand' that he was totally smitten with, and his plans to move there and marry her. (If you saw what this cat looked like, the country bumpkin he was, it'd be easy to conclude as to why he would opt to visit a country like that...just saying.) Anyways, he actually followed through on it and we kept in touch regularly until he went radio silent in 2010- his email addy finally went offline in 2020.
My guess is that, knowing him, he fell for something shady and is no longer among the living.
My personal favorite was a guy I ran into getting arrested for miscegenation in Laos because he didn't check the laws of the country. He bought a house in his gf's name, and as soon as he had a chunk of money in a local bank for "investments" they locked him up and seized it. He complained to the embassy, then tried to get local Americans to advocate for him. "Oh, you fell for that? LOL" was the typical response
No foreign dick allowed in the local vaginas, sir. I think he ended up doing 3 years or so, and his reward was a free flight home from the embassy. Dumbass
Our company had a multi-day "local laws and cultural practices" orientation along with examples of what happened to people who violated them. Most were simply funny, several were grim
@BattleDwarfGimli@GoyGirl@Humpleupagus My uncle is also OG Boomer. He's as stereotypical as can be. Dad figured he was a fag, but we kept that between us, because he'd always show up at family gatherings with some hot model but never got or even talked about getting married and only bagged on my mom and her sisters for having so many children. Dude sold his home in Huntington Beach for over a $1 million and went to Thailand. Came back 5 years later flat broke (we can only speculate as to why, but none of it is nice). He sits in his studio apartment and drinks a half-gallon of Cutty Sark every day. Vaxxed as he can be, and the bastard still doesn't die. Mean to everyone who tries to talk to him - I'm not one of them. In fact, we are not allowed in the same room together by the rest of the family.
My cousin (Army, I think) was on the cover of Time in Afghanistan. Giant, handsome guy kneeling with some brown kids he now has PTSD from, trying to figure out why they were enemies...
Meanwhile, his marriage woes were written up in Newsweek as she struggled at a base away from family with young kids. Eventually went nuts & left him as single dad to four boys. Super special.
This is a common story. After I got out, and when I got custody of my daughter, she was 10 at the time - she broke down in tears and begged me not to move her to another school. I managed to keep my promise, though just barely (we struggled financially for years), and she graduated with the same friends all together, 8 years later. Worth every minute of it.
@samjayganges@KarlDahl@CliffSecord@Humpleupagus@BattleDwarfGimli@GoyGirl@LatigoMorgan@pepsi_man Agree. Being a military brat screwed me up pretty badly. I still remember my first real friend from childhood. Then my Dad got a new assignment and we moved away. Then I had to start all over. It got to the point where I stopped bothering with making friends. I still have a hard time with that.
They should make it a crime for wives of deployed soldiers to file for divorce during deployment or for several years after returning. Call it a form of undermining the military. It fucks up so many dudes. He's serving, and so should she in her own way.
Spouses who have been cheated on should not be charged with a crime for any and all actions they take against the body of the person who cheated with their spouse.
