This is a common story. After I got out, and when I got custody of my daughter, she was 10 at the time - she broke down in tears and begged me not to move her to another school. I managed to keep my promise, though just barely (we struggled financially for years), and she graduated with the same friends all together, 8 years later. Worth every minute of it.
