Honestly I get the discomfort that a lot of Protestants have regarding Mary, but to minimize her to nothing is silly. The first Christian. She had Christ's blood and body mix with hers while He was in the womb. Even if you don't believe scripture (yes I'm baiting you) where the angel appears and commends her, she became a consecrated vessel as The Theotokos and bearer of God into the world.

100% of her power is derivative from God; so what ? Is that supposed to mean we’re not supposed to ask her to pray for us ? 100% of *all* power in the universe and beyond for all eternity is derivative from God - I guess we’re just never supposed to ask anyone to help us, ever … (that’s not a teaching I received from anyone that wasn’t promoting rabid individualism).
My prayers all begin and end in Our Lord; and I personally need all the help I can get. God is Glorious in His Saints.

Joseph is His legal father. He was also the direct blood descendant per Matthew of David and all the preceding kings of Judah. Without him, Jesus would be a usurper to David's throne. He would have no more right to reign over the house of Jacob than Herod did.
He is still just a man. Mary is still just a woman. He was born in a sinner's womb. She was saved. That is hardly minimized to nothing. She can't save you. She couldn't die for your sins. Believing she does is silly. Jesus saved you because He loves you, not as a favor to mom.
[Luk 1:31-33 KJV] 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the THRONE OF HIS FATHER DAVID:
33 And he SHALL REIGN OVER THE HOUSE OF JACOB FOR EVER; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
[Mat 2:2 KJV] 2 Saying, Where is he that is born KING OF THE JEWS? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

The prayers of the saints are offered up to God like incense per Revelation.

It’s apparent we all learned the same basic terminology, but it’s got significantly different application based underlying presuppositions.
Like we all use words such as “Church” and “Salvation” etc, and they’re all extremely loaded terms, and often we’re all talking past each other. Praised be The Lord, Who deigns to meet us where we’re at - rather than where we *should* be !
