  One goy slop dish I been wanting to copycat is green beans from long John silver’s. I imagined those ingredients when trying to figure it out by tasting them. You can visibly see the onion but the bacon and saltiness is there.

  I am picky about fatty parts of boiledish meat. Even bacon. Do you leave big chunks of bacon in with the beans or just to cook? Beans in liquid on the stove?

  What I did was saved bacon from breakfast and chopped it up. No liquid except what sweated out of the onions. 2 dollups of bacon fat, add the onion and garlic to sweat. The green beans were fresh, so no bean water from a can. Add the beans and turn up the heat for some color on them. The bacon pieces get tossed in after the beans are off the heat. Need that crunchy element to the dish. Black pepper was the only added. Damn good.

  Ok mama day dinner is almost done. Roasted chicken, loaded baked potatoes, and fresh green beans with bacon, onions, and garlic sauteed in bacon fat.
