We went to Zealandia yesterday and I highly recommend it. Pick a sunny day if possible :). The highlight for me was getting to spend quality time with these kaakaa and their whaanau 🦜🦜🦜

So apparently Bluesky is a) blocking the accounts of Turkish activists at Erdogan's request and b) deleting the accounts of Palestinians who refuse to provide them with 'government approved ID'. I genuinely thought it would take them a little longer to get this shitty.

    Another gogglebox recommendation:

Check out North of North if you can get it. It's funny and sharp. I'm 2 episodes in and I already love Siaja.

"A young Inuk woman in a tiny Arctic village strives to forge her own path, defying societal expectations and gossip in her tightknit community."

Also bonus Maaori character played by Bayley Poching.

Here's my one and only piece of Masto advice for recent arrivals, if you have followed someone who is a) an extremely prolific poster, b) writes reeeeeaaaally long posts or c) is a bit of a 'broadcaster' and you'd prefer to keep your Masto feed social.

Every Masto account has an RSS feed. You just need to add '.rss' to their public profile url. So for instance mine is https://mastodon.nz/@runoutgroover.rss

This way you can use your favourite RSS reader to follow them without cluttering up your Home feed.

@ParadeGrotesque @quinn They can also use their unlimited resources to create and maintain inertia at a political and institutional level, which is where real change needs to happen if we are going to limit the damage.

🧵 Although I’m really happy that Imane Khelif, who seems like an excellent human, is now getting tons of support (and the bigots seem to be returning to their burrows) I’m a bit queasy with some of the subtext. There seems to be a lot of: “The claim that Khelif was trans/intersex/X-Y came from a corrupt Russian organisation with no credibility and it almost certainly isn’t true. So you can relax because Khelif is a ‘proper’ woman after all.” 1/2

The unspoken implication being that if she *was* trans/intersex/X-Y then the outrage and abuse would’ve been OK. Dear commentators, please don’t fall into this TERFy trap. 2/2
