@Mrfunkedude #Today seems to be all about me travelling a year from now. I’m about to order a tripod (never been fully satisfied with any I’ve owned) and earlier today I was talking to a customer about Havana (where I’m going) and Japan (where he thinks I should also go).

Not sure why all of this today. Certainly wasn’t the plan for today. That’s what #Today is, after all: always a surprise.

@Mrfunkedude Played them in the order suggested, and it was a pretty smooth shift, oddly enough. Slow-jam with jazz-groove from Roy Ayres after Emo’s newest minimalistic track was actually really cool!

All excellent stuff.

#FollowFriday recommendation: @Mrfunkedude is an incredible source of sass, jest, unrelenting sociability, and regularly provides inspirational self-worth enforcement (complicated four-word description that probably could be one word but I can’t think of it at the moment which is why it’s four words plus all of these words explaining why it’s not just one word).

The above is also probably typical of something he would toot.

Also, if you could bang on the door of my apartment the next time you’re doing this on a Friday morning, that would also be great, because then I wouldn’t sleep in and miss it.

Yesterday’s spaghetti sauce seemed a success. The real test will be tonight, after it’s had a chance to sit in the fridge overnight and mellow.

Which is why I’m about to go back to sleep for awhile.

@Mrfunkedude Friday and Saturday are my regular days off. #Today is my first actual day of vacation, because I’ve finished a couple of things for work that I do on my own time (yeah, I’m that guy supporting the Capitalist System of exploitation of its workers; not proud of that). I’m taking care of a neighbour’s guinea pigs, doing laundry, and sleeping in.

@allenstenhaus Oh Lordy, yes. That is the classic double entendre from the hardware store inventory. One of the more polite and far less frequent ones these days involves someone who has moved from England to Canada and is looking for some lumber, a 2x4, say. In the UK they were (maybe still are) only sold in one length. Here, they can be several different ones. “How long do you want that 2x4?” “Quite some time, really, as it’s going to be part of a wall in my home, so…” @Mrfunkedude

@allenstenhaus About a year ago, we switched to a software based queue system. Before, we had used the usual ‘take a little bit of paper with a number from the dispenser’ variety. Every time we got close to 69, I had to fight the urge to make a joke. “Who has 69?” Not wise. “Looking for 69!” Asking for complaints there. “Now serving 69!” Guaranteed disappointment. Never gave in. A couple of young women did catch me muttering to myself “don’t make a joke don’t make a joke” however. @Mrfunkedude
