@scathach @sun @mushroom_soup They aren't that advanced. It's just the styling and hype that creates a perception of being advanced. People see a huge touch screen and think it's some type of advanced system but the truth is touch screen controls purpose is solely to lower manufacturing costs and it creates a danger of distraction to the driver.
And you are right. EVs are more likely to have bugs that can kill you, or be hacked remotely and used as a weapon. Personally I wouldn't be comfortable owning a vehicle that the manufacturer can at will push software updates remotely or a car that sends telemetry back to the maker. -

@sun I don't know if there is a bias. That's from for Japanese brand cameras made in the 2010s, of which I have several and there seems to be a theme of featuring white people in the manual images and I was making a joke.
Totally agree that anybody claiming the film to be racist is absurd. -

@genmaicha @lain It's because of activism. An 11 year old kid kills itself because of cyber bullying and rather than blame themselves for not paying attention to the kids life the parents become "child safety" activists. Media picks it up, pushes the outrage button and politicians start to get on board.
They started with the under 16 social media ban here. The data is in and It hasn't worked.
Porn the other issue. Parents find out there 14 year old got triple penetrated at a party while she emptied every nutsack in the room and it's because the internet. They claim kids now think 14 cocks in a vagina is normal sex.. activism.. outrage.. political distraction. -

@genmaicha @lain That's more conspiracy thinking because if that was the primary reason they would just do it and wouldn't care what people think.

> There was a push to make sex addiction a diagnosable disease in the Fifth Edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-5) but it has been rejected by the American Psychiatric Association – several times – because there is no scientific evidence that it exists.

@newt @prettygood @Pi_rat My boy was pretty happy go lucky unless an other dog showed aggression. He smashed through our window to get at one that walked past. By the time I got there to break him off he had a demon hold and had flipped it off it's feet. He was shaking it so hard he was lifting it off the pavement then smashing it down. It was terrible The good pitdogs do that. They flip the other dog off it's feet before taking a better hold. -

@genmaicha @georgia Fishing repulses me though. Fish seem so alien compared to mammals and seeing them ripped from their water world dangling from a hook I can't imagine the stress that creature must be suffering. Fishing is too cruel. There is no merciful way to catch fish. -
