Since the bulk of data centre benefits go to US companies, with all of the environmental and community costs borne by Canadians - with no lasting benefits to local or regional economies - it is time to politically kill with fire *right now* the idea of adding any more of these toxic monstrosities anywhere on Canadian soil unless & until they prove they will have a neutral climate impact, positive economic impact & are wanted by the hosting community.

Since Trump wants to govern by #tariff, the Democratic mid-term campaign strategy should make it clear that Trump's tariffs transferred $130B of wealth directly from US consumers to US corporations.

This article details all of the Republican policies resulting in an intentional, massive & unprecedented upward transfer of wealth.

I haven't seen a US news outlet lay it out this clearly; voters should understand all of this before they go to the polls.

Got a response from "the office of" my member of parliament regarding my concerns about #BillC22 and it was really disappointing.

I decided to take a deep breath before responding. It's pretty clear that the Liberal Party of Canada is going to do whatever it wants to do, and working Canadians couldn't be a lower priority.

I think all that elbows up talk is about ensuring the Canadian investment class can still prosper no matter what happens south of the border.

The glee with which the US & Israeli governments discuss the the killing of enemy combatants and the collateral damage they barely acknowledge is disturbing, as is Western journalism's coverage of it without the requisite legal and moral context.

Terrifying how this is being normalized, and then ingested into #AI platforms, through which far too many will get their interpretation of current events. We are all in grave danger.

@inthehands I think the most important of your thread is the "right now" part. If people decide it necessary and jump on board in the weeks leading up to the election, it will be too late to have maximum effect, and may even deepen the crisis by ratcheting everyone up to 11 when they're already likely to be on edge.
