@trainman @oppen This reminds me of the guy who tried to tell me an EP I played him "wasn't very well produced" -- AFTER I'd told him it was recorded live, in a basement club, on a four-track.
Which is, of course, part of the fun of listening to it.

I recently rewatched this @notjustbikes video from a year ago, and it reminded me of a joke one of my brothers likes to tell:
"You're in Toronto, and you get in your car and drive for an hour. Now where are you?"
"Toronto."

Might be time to stop digging there, buddy.
When the fibre arts crowd gets annoyed, we go from zero to scorched earth very quickly. And ageism is something we've really had it with, for what I hope are obvious reasons.
It's always the gifts I start first that get finished last. I've had this on my to-do list to give to a friend for ages. I like how the variegated yarn makes it look like the octopus is in the middle of changing its colours.
I'm very pleased with the octopus applique -- would use again. The natural twist of thin strands of knitting give the legs the same wriggliness as a real octopus'.

@SwiftOnSecurity You mean in the USA, right?
@designthinkingcomic And this is why I have learning Pen Pot on my radar.
@malfunction54 @carnage4life Those counts are not exactly diverse, either -- just "not 100% white men".
@dampscot @qag @cstross It seems to partly be because they can't big-picture. I live in a 15 minute neighbourhood, and my suburban acquaintances often say things like, "I could never do groceries in a place like that. I have kids." So I tell them about the families in my area and what they do, and they mention something else they can't imagine.
They've been told all their lives their way of life is the best way, and 15MC points out that isn't so, and threatens to take it away.
