@fesshole Such an aukward fess. You're thinking too small. Why not Moa? With Moa you get mo'a.

@benroyce I dunno. From what all my friends say about men on dating sites, AI may be the less creepy option.

@fesshole Master of the fecaphone. (I know I know but coprophone doesn't really roll off the tongue. (could I have used a worse phrase than 'roll off the tongue' here?) )

@fesshole On the fence on this one. I feel like the anti-cat people don't consider that most of the destruction of indigenous species is done by other human companions. Notably rats which love to steal eggs and chicks and will eat nearly any insect or plant. They are what wiped out most life on Rapa Nui and have done massive damage in Australia and many other places not to mention the Bubonic plague (where cats were also blamed)
How can we control them? Poison is a worse solution.

@fesshole Don't sweat it. The whole thing about zen is impermanence and not having attachment. You're just carjacking them and stepping on the gas on the road to enlightenment.

Not as if the wind and tide wouldn't knock them down anyhow, and if in the meanwhile, playing some Flintstones Jenga gives you some comfort and relief, I'd think most zen practitioners would find that pretty alright.

@Gargron Yeah. Plus it was really just a hardware test. Not a lot of science happening. Regardless, the only thing the mission is going to be known for is that the defective latrine aboard the craft was overshadowed by the one sitting in the offal office.

@shanecelis @bmacDonald94 Pretty good way to describe it. Or at least matches my own observations. I would not that the extrinsic kind are rarely as good as cultivating intrinsic.

@bmacDonald94 Thanks BTW. I've been working on the language of trying to describe the flaw in Pascal's Wager for a while as I've wanted to turn it into an animated short. In responding to your post, something clicked and I was able to condense a couple paragraphs of explanation into what is nearly a soundbyte, which means I can finally generate that message.

@bmacDonald94 I'd describe it more as an exploit than a disease. I also may not be it's target audience. I've heard numerous religious people claim without fear of God humans couldn't be moral. To me, that's projection. They're saying that without fear of punishment, they'd rape, murder, lie and steal as much as they could. It's possible the deeply religious are trying to use their fear to quell their impulses much like recovering alcoholics often need to avoid tempting environments.

@bmacDonald94 It is also the gambling debt in Pascal's wager. If you're better off believing in God, then you're also better off not following any religion. You should instead aggregate the rules from them all of them and keep only the common rules which is basically, 'Be kind", which is so easy an atheist can do it.

Anyone remember that part of history where the nazis declared dominion over the Sudaten lands to lay claim to their oilfields. Funny how there's suddenly this big problem in Venezuela when we've got nazis in power, innit?

@realtegan @StillIRise1963 It bothers me how blind I was to it as a child. I grew up in a white flight exo suburb in rural Oklahoma. TV and school lead me to believe it was in the past, only a few olds still did it. I was blind to my mother talking about 'those people' and 'welfare queens' because my uncles and grandfather threw around the n-word with delight. And even when I figured that out, I was naive enough to think it was better outside a shithole red state because racism is so stupid.

You could start this whataboutism at any level of criminal behavior. 'Today pedophiles, tomorrow, who knows?'

The account is clearly a bigot and troll harassing large numbers of people. Why doesn't that kind of child get put in the time out corner in your world?

@br00t4c But the right needs senseless death. It's the easiest way to sell fear and fear is power. It gives them control. This is all part of their strategy for herding stupid maga sheep.
