@b0rk - Copying an example from a typeset document and getting a "–" (ndash) instead of "-" or "--". - Or similar, getting a non-breaking space instead of a normal space.
These days, I always try to remember to type a "#" in the terminal before pasting anything, to make sure nothing gets run before I have the chance to look at it.
'"Bach is a sodomite," Kremlev said, with images of the Virgin Mary and Jesus on show in the background to emphasise his stance against the IOC and his displeasure at what was seen by the Christian and even Muslim world as a mockery of religious beliefs.'
Wow. I think the dude needs a good night's rest. Maybe close to an open window? The Russians have a fondness for open windows, especially on the upper floors of tall buildings, I have heard...
Random @Vivaldi bug of the day: The internal DNS at $DAYJOB, which my computer is set up to use, clearly states a server has one IP, but Vivaldi insists on using a different IP (not sure where it gets it from).
I've disabled the DNS-over-HTTP "feature" as it has caused issues like this before, but it still fails.
So, why did #WWE schedule #SummerSlam in the middle of the #Olympics? Too many things to watch, I'm skipping through #SummerSlam and will still not make it to the end today.
Humans bodies are amazing, we don’t even know how many people are intersex because we don’t chromosome test infants and it might not be possible to find out otherwise.

@0xdariaj The Windows people in the office do that a lot. Myself being A Linux person I usually just SSH in to my workstation (over the VPN) and use X forwarding instead.
The problem with RDPing is when you need a VPN on the workstation to access customer systems, because starting them usually kicks out the RDP (we solve this by running those VPNs in VMs}.
It would require adding each of the other repos as a remote and running the few lines for each of the remotes (replacing "origin" with the name of the remote each time).
@arutaz Did you install Mastodon as a DEB? If not, the package manager does not know that it uses the packages and suggests to remove them. One solution is to mark the ones that Mastodon depends on directly as manually installed (apt install package-name), then it will stop suggesting to delete them and their dependencies.
@Old_IT_geek Did BBC drop the series completely, and not air it?
I was just happy that it finally appeared somewhere I could watch it again. It dropped off Netflix in 2016 or so, and I have used alternate sources to watch it until this season (which I just started watching).
@neurer The common theme here being Crowdstrike... Att least they didn't crash automatically in that case, but only after a reboot (and that is almost always supervised).
So, in light of the #Crowdstrike issue today, it keeps me wondering, will #Windows be ready for the desktop soon? Will 2024 be the year of Windows on the desktop, or should I just keep running #Debian like I have done since 1997?
@ascherbaum@sep It's possible to do in the installer, you just have to commit the partition table a couple of times (before and after adding RAID space), which makes it a bit clumsy.
