@ascherbaum @sep My current setup (at home) is this: / and /boot/efi as regular partitions on SSD, then a swap partition and RAID space on each of my 2 TB HDDs, with a /home partition taking up the RAID space (plus a scratch partition on a spare disk)

@ascherbaum @sep You need to create the boot partition(s) first (possibly with identical mirror partition(s) on the other disk(s)), then set up the RAID on the remaining space and put the normal partitions there.

If you're using swap, make sure to also create swap partition(s) before creating the RAID space.

@sep @ascherbaum That. The EFI partition cannot be on the RAID system. Grub (in BIOS mode) should be able to boot from a RAID /boot partition, but EFI cannot boot from a software RAID partition.

@ascherbaum EFI or legacy (BIOS) boot? Does trying the other work?

Having a non-RAID /boot partition usually helps. For EFI boot, you might have better results with #rEFInd for booting.

@brucelawson I tend to have weird dreams, yes. But I don't dream in pictures, so they're probably not "vivid" in fat definition, but they are dubbelt immersive.

As I set up a Windows machine (in UK, so not EU) it becomes obvious that Microsoft really REALLY wants me to ENJOY all the fun of Office, and that not enjoying it is "limited experience".

It nags me again to add an account, so I choose "offline account". It's not *offline*, of course, it's just not connected to Microsoft Cloudwoo. Then it nags me through every stage of password choice, confirmation and 3 security questions "even better, use an online account", Nah, it's my machine mate.

Well, that was an unexpected turnaround. Looking forward to the women's championship match at #AEWAllIn, my first live #AEW event!

@giggls According to the linked email, it is caused by a Fedora/Red Hat-specific patch, which apparently is not included in Debian.

"Specifically, openssh-7.6p1-audit.patch found in Red Hat's package of
OpenSSH adds code to cleanup_exit() that exposes the issue. Relevantly,
this patch is found in RHEL 9 (and its rebuild/downstream
distributions), where the package is based on OpenSSH 8.7p1."
