I'm not sure if this happens only with pixelfed.social or with any Pixelfed instance, but adding it as a Timeline never fetches anything. Also, no warning of not finding a public timeline is shown, as I've seen with some Mastodon instances.

It seems the 'Attach an image when sharing a URL' option, in the 'Compose' settings, is not doing anything when enabled.

Will there be a fix for instances that already support Markdown?

The "custom tabs" feature is not only available in chromium-based browsers. Firefox for Android also provides it.
But I agree that "built-in" browser can be misleading. Maybe "load links in-app" or "in-app browser" (as Telegram names it, for instance) would work better.

All links are now opening in-app and there is no way of changing it from the settings.
