I am surprised by how easy it is to bypass a VPN on iOS!

"The SDK’s config ships a flag “use_netifs”: true. That flag triggers code in the SDK binary that constructs its NWConnection with a specific required interface: en0 (WiFi) or pdp_ip0 (cellular), rather than using the system default route.

On iOS, this bypasses any configured VPN’s tun0 interface entirely. The peer tunnel does not cross a user-configured VPN, even when the rest of the app’s HTTPS traffic does."

Thank you for that information! I'm on mastodon.social, but I'm usually on a third-party app, #Fedilab, which doesn't show badges, so domain verification is still important.
On that, why not verify through mastodon.social and mastodon.online instead of joinmastodon.org?

Both the magnifying glass and the target buttons perform similar actions, even though in distinct contexts. Wouldn't it be better to have the same icon for both buttons?

I also appreciate that you developed #Loops as a separate project from #Pixelfed. I know lots of people like the vertical, short-video format, but I'm not a fan. In fact, Instagram's imposition of Reels on everyone was the last straw that finally broke that platform for me.

I'm not sure if this happens only with pixelfed.social or with any Pixelfed instance, but adding it as a Timeline never fetches anything. Also, no warning of not finding a public timeline is shown, as I've seen with some Mastodon instances.
