@evan It's great, but the thing is I thought the idea was to revolutionize the internet, and to do that you have to realize the internet includes people you don't like or agree with. I think that's the problem. A lot of people realize you can't have it both ways.

Good morning all! Breakfast and then back on the road. Checkout isn't 'til noon, so we can take our time a bit. This place has some problems, but breakfast is very good!

@FediTips Wonder if it'll be easier to use. I don't use Goodreads often, so I can't tell you just what was wrong with it, but I know it annoyed me, lol.

Well, we made it to Tifton. First leg of our journey done. Ordered Dominos for dinner. Tomorrow's trip is supposed to be shorter, but it's also Atlanta, so may be more frustrating.

@Nightshade Yep. I'm worried about driving all the way there with Mom who couldn't even give me an idea how long it would take or where we were going.

@niavy Both. I mean, it's just the next state over, but we'll be breaking it up. We'll be there for a week. Hopefully back next Sunday.

@niavy Yeah, on Tuesday there's a Muppet event at the Center for Puppetry Arts, and then we're going to visit family there for a few days.

We're off to Ga in the morning. I'm a bit worried about the long trip, honestly. Okay, very worried. But I'm bringing my phone and laptop with me, so at least I can keep everyone updated when I get from point A to point B to point C to point D.

@Radgryd I think I set mine pretty well, but with the older version I could just be scrolling down the page and there would just be 1 line saying "filtered, politics". I wouldn't even notice it if I wasn't paying attention! But the way it's set up now it still gives me the poster's name and all the other info and treats it just like a regular CW. So not as easy to just breeze by.

@Radgryd Good idea. Since the Mastodon upgrade filters are a lot harder to ignore, so I wonder if that will help.

@alice This post made me realize, not for the first time, how there's a difference between sleep and rest, and how a lot of people don't realize this.

Reddit is like a neat mix of forums and Facebook groups.

Then again, when I was younger, I would say I liked to stay up late because the night was like my own personal time when no one wanted me for anything, I didn't have to answer to anyone, and it felt like the world was mine. Often the worse my day was and the more annoyed I was, the later I would stay up. Maybe I do this because I've gotten used to having various degrees of depression for so long.

When I do sleep propperly I get up early and usually have a lovely day. It's just getting to that point.

The thing with disordered sleep is, it's a hard cycle to get out of not because I can't sleep necessarily, but because if I can't sleep for a couple of nights, I wind up sleeping a lot of the day, and I don't get to do much during the day. When it's nighttime my day's been stupidly short and I don't want to go to bed, so I stay up late and then find the night is half over, and so it continues.

@kf People are always determined to only see the bad in things.

One thing I really liked in my forum and Twitter days, (for some reason I don't remember seeing on Facebook), is taking ideas from our world and applying it to characters. Things like, what music would they probably listen to or what song fits them, what presents might they give or like to give for Christmas, what's their astrological sign, Etc.
