some people say fb marketplace is sketchy but I am constantly surprised by how nice and anti-scammy my neighbors are

once sold someone a nice backpack and didn't realize there was $20 in a pocket

they came back to give me the $20

today I sold one of my manual espresso makers, the guy paid in cash, and he accidentally shorted me $10

he realized this HOURS later while doing laundry and is insistent on dropping the $10 bill off with the leasing office while I'm out tomorrow

Just learned through @kitchen’s CaringBridge site that he passed away from cancer yesterday. 😔

Kitchen was one of the first locals I met when I moved to Portland 10 years ago. I lived not far from him in SE, so we’d regularly meet up to discuss industry nonsense.

We were both so excited when he was able to step away from work to bikepack around the world and so saddened when cancer cut his trip short.

We were able to get brunch many times since he moved back to Portland for treatment, but there’s never enough time, is there?

Anyway, today is a sad day, and I will be spending much of it scrolling through his travel blog.

- they had my prescription delivered to my apartment building after business hours
- the person either didn’t deliver it or left it out, where it was stolen
- amazon is now replacing the entire month’s supply which costs over $1k
