I think PNW people wonder if why I don’t like standing around in the rain is like me not understanding why people complain about heat and humidity (I truly don’t really feel heat and humidity, but my body was also built for equatorial weather)

Where I come from, rain is nice and warm. Like taking a warm bath.

@kf I have better gear than last time.. it is a little bit better, my body still thinks it’s wholly unnatural to not see the sun at all lol

@skinnylatte I feel like enjoying the rain in portland is less a matter of bodies and more a matter of gear
I own so much gear after ~10 years in the PNW and now I love the rain 😂

@kf we get a ton of monsoon in SEA. Some towns I’ve spent a lot of time in rain as much and far more vociferously. But there’s still something different about this type of rain that feels.. alienating to me instead of nice

@skinnylatte oh THAT part is still weird to me, but then again: I grew up on the gulf coast and hated the sun
so I enjoy it
but I'm still not *used* to it
(the rain is normal and great to me, though!)

@skinnylatte Where I come from, rain is cold, frequent and usually accompanied by wind. Like taking a New Year's Polar dip.
