@toor @georgetakei i grew up in rural southeast kansas and lived in brutal poverty, and yet had no problem moving to arizona in my 20s working at restaurants and other odd jobs. there are plenty of cheap places to live in blue states.

@georgetakei it would better for human welfare if the states decided on virtually everything. then you always have a respite from bad laws and people can vote with their feet on where to live. game theory says this is the better system.

@toor @georgetakei yeah, it's already visible today. federal laws like DOMA and controlled substances prevented blue states from being progressive, and still do. you're asymmetrically considering the impact. i think letting voters in red states control my life in oregon is insane.

@futurebird Well I work for a self-driving car company and while I hate cars and will probably end up moving to the Netherlands to get away from them, and primarily use my electric car go bike, I do think the numbers already speak to there being significantly superior to human drivers. they always stop at stop signs, they respect speed limits, they recognize painted bike lanes etc.
