Not sooo many but it might help you find your people! The problem with federation is you will only see hashtags from posts that your server is already aware of (I think) so you won't see them all.. It takes some time to build your community.
That's why having #PublicLists would be really helpful!!
@RustyRing You haven't witnessed the racist and abusive behaviour because, currently, Mastodon users cannot see all the replies of any given post, due to the way Mastodon works.
A solution has been implemented on our instance, and I can now see all replies to a post if I want and it makes a huge difference! I can see the spam, the nasty posts, and the well-intentioned users just repeating the same thing over and over again because they can't see that someone else already said it.
What point is there in reading the news when 1) it makes us sad and 2) there is nothing we can do about it? 😕
I feel like we have a duty to know about bad things happening even if they don't directly happen to us but what is the point if we are not doing anything to fix these bad things?
Maybe the real question is how can we fix the world even at an individual scale and to be able to figure that out we need to stay informed.. even if it hurts 🤔
@neuralreckoning I was just thinking that one way that I can help at my own scale is by helping with our mastodon instance which is providing this unbiased space where we can freely discuss among ourselves. So I'm trying to see how we can improve it to get more people to join and stay :)

@kaia still, I should thank on behalf of my past self! One day (in Paris) my wallet got stolen in the underground and when I realized it I started thinking about all the paperwork I would have to do to remake my ID card and driving license etc. but a few days later I got a phone call from the police and someone had found it and it had almost everything in it! I was SO happy and relieved… So, thank you 🙏
