@gwm I don't think you had a "duty" to do anything. I think you wanted to do something - prevent genocide - and you made a choice that ended up hurting that goal. That has nothing to do with "duty", and everything to do with how things work in practice.
@gpilz@gwm And you think you're going to change *Trump's* mind then? You think he's going to stop the war? The guy who thinks Gaza would make great beachfront property? The guy who meets with Netanyahu in private?
Or are you also a selfish fuck who just doesn't care about outcomes and only care about your own ideological purity?
@gpilz@gwm You are absolutely fucking naïve as shit, and I don't give a single fuck about the people who live in the US here. I don't live there. I want people in Gaza to stop dying and your absurd and simplified view of the world is making you act to make things worse for them.
@gpilz@gwm Because THAT IS NOT FUCKING TRUE, that's why. That is just not true, and that is propaganda you have been fed, and happily accepted, because you are clearly fucking naïve.
@gwm Come on. It's 2024. At this point you need to be able bring yourself to admit that Jill Stein is Putin's puppet. She is supported by one of the biggest fascists in power today.
It would be lovely to have a viable green party in the US. But *you don't have that*. You have a Russian op. Jill Stein is not what you want.
Harris is far from perfect, but is also nowhere near is a fascist. Trump and Jill Stein, however, literally are.
@jk What I've settled on as my internal understanding of what LLMs is, is that they're like someone trained a dog to take meeting notes. Now, even if it kept misspelling words, and would put in random comments about wanting to go for a walk or how great sticks are, that would be the most amazing thing you've ever seen. It would absolutely blow your mind that this was even possible.
But you wouldn't hire the dog to take meeting notes. Except, in this case, people are trying to.
@Gargron Some days I think we treat software development far too cavalierly. This stuff can be dangerous! It can completely change the path of your life if you are not careful.
@dansup@tweece Unfortunately, as long as you use React Native, this is the reaction you can expect from the people who strongly appreciate platform aesthetics and functionality. There really isn't a cross-platform UI toolkit that will produce apps that feel properly native, and most likely there will never be one.
The only way to make an app that feels good on each platform is to do it in native code on both platforms.
