@mcc I think there is need for strong regulation for privacy and more generally for people to be informed of and have control over the amount and location of their data. So I'm in favor for some definition of "data residency law". I don't think enforcing national borders on the movement and storage of data is the right way to look at it

@evan As long as they don't own/earn more than 10x as much as the median of their employees, I think being foreign doesn't matter too much. And if they do own/earn more, then it's a problem even if they're not foreign

While I understand the motivation behind this campaign I can't help but cringe at the idea that as a society we reached the point where we encourage people to isolate themselves in their bubble (where they listen to the messages streamed from our tech oligarchs?)
